I am brutally honest. Popular, love everything they read, reviewers are scared to go neg. and risk their ranking. It's your money!!!
A DECEASED AMBULATORY VIRAL HOST
Written in 2006, it would not be fair to say this is the same old same old, even though it is. Since 2006 the Zombie boom has brought us a plethora of Zombies. Now a book that talks about the start of a plague, the slow discovery, the convincing of the public, the government cover up, the fact that you have to shoot a zombie in the head to kill it and everything else we all know like the back of our hand, is boring. The writing is also simplistic.
Now we have Cell by Stephen King, Cattle by Joseph Duncan, The Girl With All The Gifts by M.R. Carey, The White Trash Zombie series by Diana Rowland and the Apocalypse series by Peter Meredith, just to name a few. Skip Plague.
P.S. One of the advantages to following someone with your same likes and dislikes, means you get all the reviews, even during a sale. Low reviews get held pending approval, and don't get released until after the sale. Followers get an immediate e-mail, saving them money.

Finally a Zombie book without a vampire, werewolf, a computer system that becomes self aware
The battle scenes between the horde of dead and the armed forces
No, but truthfully I was not looking for a book about zombies which would 'move me'. I wanted something easy and fun to listen and long enough to fill out the details.
I will buying the next in the series!
Avid Zombie Fiction listener!!! Bring on the living dead.
It was a great story. The first book is a little hard to get through with all the military talk and it seems to drag. But if you get through the first half it's gets really good. This is probably my 2nd favorite series. It's full of z action and you come to like the characters and can't wait to hear what's going to happen next.
It's your typical z fiction with a lot of military and medical knowledge intertwined. Like I said it's a little stiff in the beginning but it gets much better (or I got used to it) throughout.
I felt at times he sounded a little robotic especially when narrating the emails.
No. It did make me anticipate the next book.
If your an avid z fiction listener then it's a must read or listen.. I love love love z fiction and a good series is hard to find.. This knew is worth the credit and there's 4 or 5 books in this series so it will keep you listen to good material for awhile..
I work in IT, I love reading, I love Writing and for those daily travels too and fro I love to listen to Audible books too
I was hooked from the beginning, I knew this would be three books and by the end of this part one I knew I just had to do the rest, HAD TO.....
The Zombies where great characters and really were scary. The isolation and loneliness came through very well.
The town.... those who listened will know what I mean. I truly would not want to be chased like that.
This series is worth the time if you love your Zombie stories.
One of the best zombie stories available on Audible. I really enjoyed this whole series. It was a little annoying at the very beginning of this book, with the emails and the way it was all read and the narrator's seeming unfamiliarity with certain acronyms, but once the actual story got going, I couldn't stop listening. I'll definitely listen to this one again. Glad there were two other books after this, because I didn't want it to end!
I grew up with books....not television.
This is your typical zombie story told from a military perspective. It did take me a few chapters to thoroughly get into the story - but then I started to bond with the characters. There isn't a whole lot of interaction with the zombies on a close combat scenario - mostly military tactics and warfare. It was good enough though to check out the 2nd installment. So I will!
Avid Zombie fan who's starting to listen to more and more Fantasy and Sci-Fi stories. So, my description is apt to change. Dog lover who's known to have cats. LOL C# coder, part-time prepper, B movie fan, AMC watcher, recovering but successful day trader, perpetual student, overjoyed uncle, former adrenaline junkie with a flare for cooking, and lots more. LOL
this series presents a fuller story, from the first cases of the infected and the initial responses to the spread across the globe. the story initially focuses on two groups of survivors- a group of soldiers and a group consisting other survivors. i won't reveal much about them so as to not spoil anything. i've enjoyed the different accounts of survival from the different groups.
1st half of the book is kind of slow as the plot builds and the author develops the characters. there is a good cast of characters. they are believable. the author does a good job of rotating the characters and the action going on around them.
i've read a few different zombie books, and this story has its own, unique zombie slant. imagine a combination of 28 days later and return of the living dead.
i've enjoyed the series. after i finished the 1st book, i was invested enough in the story and characters to want to pick up the second book. i'm on the 3rd book, and they've been a good investment in time. The second book is better than the first and so far book 3 is as good as the second.
i must say there is one thing that annoyed me- how stupid the world's militaries are in the beginning. i can't believe that such a strategic area wasn't better defended. that is the weakest plot point. ah-well, it reminded me of the battle of yonkers from world war z.
if you've already read/listened to day by day armmageddon, the infection, we're alive, world war z, and zombie fallout and you're looking for another zombie series, then this one's pretty good.
I love zombie books and this is my favorite so far . Good story and likable characters makes you laugh and keeps you engaged cant wait for next one
Finished my 4th listening. Such a great story. Every time new details and deeper understanding of whats going on. Plus reader was just great.
