Truly one of the worst I have read! I thought the Frankenstein thing went badly but not as bad as this. He must just need some extra cash for his place in Newport Coast.
If you've loved the Christopher Snow books as I have you won't want to read this book. Pale by comparison doesn't even begin to describe it, maybe invisible by comparison...
Jeffrey Cummings didn't help, I was put off by the nasal tone and falsetto female voices.
To think I almost didn't download this wonderful book. I pity those that didn't "get it" and felt the book's ending was lacking. I suspect these individuals have not experienced or sensed the magic animals have to offer us. Thank you Mr. Koontz for writing this book.
I expected more from Dean Koontz. Boring, shallow, not worth the money, and not worth the 8+ hours you'll lose.
as the folds of this novel close together the picture becomes clearer, and the surprise and wonderment are unmistakable... I really liked this book, I will be delving into more of Deans Books
Not a waste of a credit. This book was not one of his best, but what I would consider "decent". Some of Koontz's books are very memorable (Intensity, Watchers, any of the Odd books) but this one I'm not so sure.
It's not one to avoid, but if you haven't "read" some of his others, I'd read those first.
This one kept me in my car and some times late to work..Yes, there are a lot of characters to follow, however I think he does a good job on captivating the readers attention. I would have to say this is out of his norm but none the less I'm glad I used my credits on this one.
For the most part the main story about the mysterious creatures was good. The other side characters and stories were distracting and for the more part didn't really go along with the storyline. The ending was very disappointing. I feel it was rushed. There were too many loose ends. I think Dean Koontz needs to rewrite the ending. This was my first Dean Koontz novel and while I understood what he was trying to do with it, I think that most of his readers/listeners could have ended the story better. Three stars for the first of the story one star for the ending.
