    "Such a disappointment"

The first part of this book is wonderful, but the second part is truly awful. It is as if the author simply ran out of ideas and went for gross or silly resolution to the mystery. Very disappointing.

    "Best Yet"

I'm going through all of Burke's books from the beginning. I think this is the best yet. Most of the story takes place out of his usual digs and in New Orleans. The story concerns an undercover assignment and a relationship he has with one of the New Orleans "greaseballs". The plot is gripping, because his life is at risk almost from the start. It is also the story about how he gets together with his 3rd wife Bootsie. The narrator is wonderful and if not from Louisiana, he has an amazing ability to do regional accents.
