I would not consider the audio edition to be better but superior in terms of narration and ease.
Being a busy person myself I can now say that I went to bed with Jeremy Irons - narrating this wonderful fable and putting me to sleep.
I liked the metaphors presented in the story, the wisdom and the choice in us all.
No I haven't however I would love to listen to other books he narrates. I loved it!
I am hooked to Audio Books now. Can't get enough and I have a diverse library to get me from the self development to a world of fantasy and dreams.
A fable I will always remember - one I need to listen to again and will pass on to others. The thought of seeking my personal legend is a life-changer. Jeremy Irons is the perfect voice to hear this inspiration in my mind over and over again.
“Seek you personal legend
I have read the hard copy and was stoked to find it as an audio. It's an inspiring and easy book to immerse the self in. I will gladly listen to this again and again!
Expression and feeling.
Be the master of your fate; the captain of your soul.
Many great messages brilliantly woven into a timeless story. I have listened to it a few times and each time pick up new lessons to ponder. As your life changes a another listen will reveal more secrets to you. A must listen and re-listen for the novice and the advanced spiritual adventurer.
The story should have enchanted me. It's told like a fairy tale. It's full of interesting situations and characters. It is beautifully written. But for some reason, I just wasn't that into it. Jeremy Irons should have been able to make it gripping, but--for me, anyway--it just kind of fell flat.
Top of the list
When the boy travels to Egypt and meets the Alchemist.
When he meets the King and he gets the two stones for fortell his future.
His love for the girl in the village and his love for his sheep.
I loved hearing the reader, whose voice is so well known and carries the book to greater heights.
A very pleasant listen from Jeremy Irons and the story is very thought provoking. I would recommend this book.
Jeremy Irons brings this book to life. I listened while reading along and found the combination to be wonderful.
Audible.com does not take the time to break this selection down into chapters. With this book, you get four hours of material broken into to huge chunks of two hours each. It makes it very hard to navigate through the audio.
I have purchased other Audible.com selections and found the SAME PROBLEM! HUGE audio files without chapter selections. I have had to wade through hours of audio, making my own notes about chapters, just to be able to navigate the audio.
I have written to Audible with my concerns about this and have never heard back from them. They might be saving time and money for themselves in the short run, but, it is not fair to the listener to give us such huge audio files without chapter markers.
I love books that convey important life-lessons artistically molded within the backdrop, or woven within the heart of a great fictional piece. The Alchemist is a story that I found very adventurous, thrilling, and emotionally moving; yet it's packed with those small and big lessons you will learn while on your journey toward any goal you set-out to undertake. With this journey you come face-to-face with various kinds of people, and run into those familiar arch-types you are bound to cross-paths with on that important life-quest. Through out this story, you go with the main character and experience how important it is in anything you do, to follow your heart, and heed both those subtle and powerful urgings you get from your: gut, instinct, intuition, psyche, subconcious, heart - whatever you love to call it. While also making good use of the knowledge and wisdom you gain along the way. You'll love this journey.
