The story is amazing, this is my second time with it but first time listening. I love how Jeremy Irons uses various kinds of Neglish accents for different characters, being from the UK himself. His voice talents made me love this story even more!
I love fantasy, scifi, mythological & philosophical. I want to find myself somewhere else when I read, preferably somewhere impossible.
Yes. It is a beautiful view of the world that most I know would not have "seen" before.
The boy is definitely a perceptive ever-growing character.
In my opinion, it was the alchemist.
Great book, and I now keep an eye out for my own omens. Also, the narrator is pretty fantastic.
and a penny for your thoughts
Apparently this book is world renowned. I think it's a case of "The emperors new clothes" where one person said this was Jeep and nobody else wants to admit it could've been written by someone in third grade. A clumsily written story about a boy who moves through life and observes that nature is in harmony. Oh yeah, and some idealistic mumbo-jumbo thrown in with a Judeo Christian attitude.
If you get this as a deal of the day, it's worth a listen to know what the hype is about but I caution you against using a credit. You've probably heard better from Oprah.
