Jeremy Irons (the voice of Scar in The Lion King) does an excellent job in narrating this book. The story is very vivid and entertaining and has a lot of important life lessons weaved in to it, without being to obvious about it. I highly recommend listening to this book over reading it yourself.
Did you know this is Will Smith's all time favorite book?
That's the reason why I bought it and I'm glad I did.
I love to read and audible has helped me double what I read in a year. An Irish bookworm.
Jeremy Irons enthusiastic performance of the story and the deeper meaning of the story
The old king. We could all do with an inspirational advisor like him!
If their is only one book you can read (listen to) in your life, make sure it's this one and Jeremy Irons is brilliant as a narrator!
Addicted to Audible since 2009
This is definitely a cute and inspirational story about following your dreams and I will definitely like to listen to this again. I also thought Jeremy Irons did a great job narrating.
It came across as preachy with to many religious overtones.
Stardust by Neil Gaiman
Yes, listening to Jeremy Irons was the only highlight of the book.
I was just disappointed overall. I expected a better story with all the positive ratings. I will have to pay closer attention to what is said in the positive and negative reviews.
I am someone who enjoys audible books very much now that they exist. As a young student (real young) I can remember a teacher telling me how books can transport people to different places & open up a whole new world. This is how listening to audible books make me feel. Now if I can just stop falling asleep while listening to them at night I would be fine. Ha ha
As fables go I have found this book in particular needing to be reread, chewed on & digested. Certain things will impress their reader when they are open to hearing them while others take time or allowance. There were words or phrases that jumped right out at me & others that I seem to forget almost instantly. And one must remember especially in fables how one must be in a special place in order to receive the information. For example where is the reader's focus? Some things will make perfect sense while others may not. So as I say this book will take me more than one read to grasp all I can from the wisdom within. Very enjoyable. And some of the wisdom I personally needed to hear again & again like a gentle wave of ocean hitting the beach.
indeed it helps you love the world.
why would it need a new name
What ridiculous questions Audible is asking what you really should know is this is a wonderful book that has imagination and insight and I truly believe everyone should read this book or listen whatever the case may be at least once in their life.
Yes, certainly. A classic narration of a classic story...
His was of generating the expressions...
I don't think I would try another book from Coelho

This was my first listen to Jeremy Irons. I love his voice and would gladly listen to another book by him.
