Narrator speaks too quickly and doesn't pause when starting a new thought, paragraph, or such. Listeners get confused because it's not obvious that she's starting a new thought or paragraph. No need for such fast reading here.
I did like the book well written although very predictable. The narrator was a little on the "over excited" side most times. All and all although I would not re read this novel I most likely will be reading the sequel eona
It was open-ended.... It nearly forces you to have to read the 2nd book. Not impressed.
I think for the most part- although it was not as strong of narration as I have had in the past with narrators of Rules of Civility, Pillars of the Earth and Cutting for Stone.
fizzeled at the end book two is worse
determination of eona
she couldn't have been that stupid
It wasn't a complete wast of time, but I don't think I'd listen to it again if I could go back. I understand that Eon was in a hard spot, but honestly I can only listen to so much winnying before I'm just annoyed.
The courtly wit and banter that could have add some much the book fell flat. The book is missing something, I really don't I'll bother with the sequal.
I didn't have a problem with her in the beginning but she started to wear on me the longer I listened. Maybe is was how it was written but the narrator didn't help Eon sounds like a winy little girl most of the time, at times the narrator even gave her a differant voice. But the worst part is listening to the narrator's mouth noises, and you could hear the creck of a chair.
sure if you liked the first one.
I enjoy reading Asian-inspired fantasy, I liked it even though I had problems with some of the characters seeming a bit underdeveloped. Very good book none the less.
Very entertaining story, not boring, and quick. The reader was nice as well and very easy to understand. The recording of the reader how ever could have been a little better. At time listening to it on my Iphone the recording sounded as if it was a recording of a recording. But still very easy to understand and enjoy
And save yourself a lot of frustration. The book overall has a lot of potential. However, it's so long I skipped chapters (and it was still too long) and the plot was so obvious you wanted to slap the characters! Also, do NOT let children listen; older teens would be ok. Doubt if I read the sequel as I already know how things will end up.
