The power of imagination makes us infinite.
Really enjoyed the story. The story was well written and I think the narrator did a wonderful job!
Listening to stories as I drive to and from work is the best, making the drive a little more tolerable.
The turmoil caused such emotion I felt from the reader of the story that I found enjoyable. Listening to it on audible helps me be a better storyteller for my grandchildren when I read them their stories or those of my own writings.
I liked the conflicts between the characters whether it was within oneself or with others.
Here reading really helped differentiate the difference between Melanie and Wanda (Wanderer), even between the other characters.
I wish, but it is a huge book
I have listened to it many times...too many to count and I still catch little things that I missed
If you have time to waste, read this book. It is nothing special, but it will make the time go by faster then not listening to anything. The main character's constant wallowing and obsession with other characters is tiresome and excessive. It's like listening to a friend cry on your shoulder for 23 hours.
A happy ending for an undeserving character.
Kate's voice is unpleasant and has little range.
I've listened to at least 30 or so audiobooks from Audible at this point, and The Host ranks up there with the most entertaining to listen to. The reader had a number of character voices she used throughout, and was completely able to represent both Wanderer and Melanie through spoken word without complication. I always knew who was speaking, even without clarification, which is something to be impressed with given the nature of this storyline.
The narrator for The Game of Thrones is similarly entertaining to listen to, due to the number of character voices he creates for his read.
I enjoyed hearing the emotion and enthusiasm in her words. I actually felt like I was listening to a movie at times. She provided fear, anxiety, anger, timidity, and more to all her characters, which helped me forget I was listening to a book.
I'm afraid there is a film already being made for this book, and it will be released in March 2013. The tag line for it is: "Choose to believe. Choose to fight. Choose to Love."
I'm not a fan of romance but this one is very entertaining. The sci-fi aspect made more interesting in my case and the descriptions were vivid, thank to the narrator (Kate Reading you rock). I gave a 4 star to Performance because i think there is always room for improvement. I really recommend it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Twilight series. Yet, this book blows it out of the water, for me. The story and entire concept are great fun. Based on an alien invasion, it is written in the first person, as the alien. It leads you on a journey of perspectives that has very real implications both in human interactions, as well as interspecies interactions, both historically and now. The character development and perspective are deeper and not at all aimed at a teenage audience, although many teens may still like it.
I eagerly anticipate future novels.
Oh most defiantly. Such a great listen . It was so intense. The love story was so believable.
Kinda, sorta close to the body snatcher types. This is way better..I felt so much for the Aliens as for the humans.
My first time...and she was excellent.
The story is so interesting and exciting! You get the thrill, adventure, sci fi, and romance all in one novel!
Can't wait for the movie!
I still haven't fully decided if this book was well worth my time. Stephenie Meyer definitely lives in her own world when it comes to love and romance. It's to be expected that she'll have a central female character with two male characters pining for her. That's the whole story. Not much substance.
I wouldn't. It is an ok book. Nothing spectacular.
No. It was kind of bland to begin with and her endings tend to simply taper off. Yet again one of her books has an uneventful ending.
