One expects a crime novel to be a little far-fetched, but this one out did itself. I had a hard time determining if it's main point was that of an unlikely hero surfacing, or a repressed woman finally coming into her own. A little girl who was kidnapped (I don't think that I'm giving anything away) turned out to be so precocious that one wonders how she got herslef kidnapped in the first place.
I enjoy books of this genre, but will be a little more careful picking them in the future.
At the risk of being called a sexist, femal narrators just don't do as good a job of portraying men as male narrators do of portraying women. There. I've said it.
The same information is repeated over and over and over (and over) again. I am a Gold member...I listen to a LOT of books...and this is the first time I have been inclined to write a review simply sucking up the bad ones and rejoicing in the good one. This book however had me ripping my headset from my ears with the desire to run screaming from the building! Filling pages is one thing....this is just beyond tolerable.
Something as far from this series as I can get.
Yes....it is not the narrator's fault that she is forced to be REDUNDANT.
I couldn't get deep enough into the book to form any opinion on the characters.
none other than a strong desire to warn anyone from buying this book unless you like REDUNDANCY!
Someone who is looking for a light romance with a little bit of danger and mystery
The story was completely lame, unbelievable, and worst, BORING
The reader is OK, the book is terrible
I'm shocked this got 4*. I can finish almost any book, but not this one. Lame, trite, boring, and way to much dialogue from a five year old.
Audible addicted love mystery, lately stuck on love story. Mother of 1 Labrador and 1 perfect man. Work way too hard, and so ready to be retired
Up there in the top 10 I enjoy it glad I did not let reviews change my mind about. Purchasing it
Emma was one of my favorite
I enjoyed the story and all it's char
The Target was a great story. It got a bit long in some parts but all in all the story line was great. There was suspense, romance, character building and a semi-surprise ending. Although not my favorite in the series, I would not bypass it.
I have listen to this book 3 times and have enjoyed it each time. I love the strong mother figure and how she takes care of things on her own. The Judge is a nice balance as an appropriate father figure. The only thing that I would have changed was the fact that they married with out the Judge every saying I love you out loud.
I'm about 2/3 into this book and I can't do anymore. The characters are ridiculous, make unbelievable decisions, ho-hum I got shot in the leg. Nobody does the right thing, even when they are federal judges and decide that he's just going to keep a little girt that needs serious help. I started to think this book might be for young readers because the language is quite juvenile. I've never read anything by Coulter before, and I won't waste my money again. I just kept saying out loud, "What? You've got to be kidding". It's a good plot, but totally unrealistic. Really, really bad book.
Couldn't finish this one. I got about 3/4 of the way through it and just couldn't bear it. The language is strange and unrealistic. People don't actually say things like "I quite enjoyed that" after they have sex. It seemed odd.
Keeps you thinking
I liked the different twists and turns the book takes. It might confuse some ppl but I thought it was great. The Narator was pretty good. I'm partial to Susan Erickson though.
Yeah I didn't want to stop listening.
I would definitely recommend this book.
