practical steps that made a difference
getting stuff out of my head
Recommend this to anyone who wants to get organised and get things done
Good common sense
This is hard to say. I like to lesen to books like this while driving or doing other mundane things. Reading a book while driving would certainly have a different outcome.
A basic strategy to get organized. I will likely listen to this again, so it is unlike other audio books in that regard.
Yes. I still follow many of the things learned from this book several months later. Whenever I get stressed I go to my things list and think of the next action step, which is usually finding more information. As soon as I remember that I need to gather more information I feel better and I'm more productive.
Possibly not. I listened to some sections several times to get the nuance of details.
Several, including: "Don't share a work space with anyone"; Get a label maker; two minute actions
Yes, very good
No, you need time to digest all the recommendations.
The biggest limitation is not being able to view the diagrams referenced in the book.
Read by the author. Always what I prefer for non-fiction.
The truth is people are generally always going to have more thing to do than time to do them. I like this framework for managing those things and relieving mental stress.
In a nutshell, write everything down so you aren't worried about what you might have forgotten to do.
I would put this book at the upper end of audiobooks I have listened two. One the content is very good and two the narration is well done.
7 Habits of Highly Effective People but this book is better for really getting a system going that works with todays demands. Make sure you look around online for various blogs that talk about their technical implementation of this system with current software tools.
I use this books message constantly while running my business.
This has to be on the top of my books I have gotten from Audible.
I have been spoiled, having sat through personal coaching this audio was an afterthought and although useful, paled next to one on one coaching. Contact Henrik Spadnet-Moller at email@example.com and tell him Mirko sent you. Do a group work session!
As a companion piece this audio reinforced & went into exhaustive detail (overly so) what is more effectively delivered in a 6-8hr session with Henrik. You can gain control of your agenda with the use of these techniques.
It makes sense, not I want to implement those techniques mentioned in the book.
Out of all things mentioned, I felt that the project list was most valuable in keeping track of one's own "universe"
Update things, Palm is out of business, iphones are in with great programs, OmniFocus was designed after this method, there is no mention. He talks a lot of post-its, voice mails, and paper inbox, it needs to be modernized.
Great system, and the method is fantastic and very efficient at getting things done.
