This is my second read by Gardner. She certainly knows how to weave many complicated elements together to create suspense and build anticipation to the climax,
The story was action packed and suspenseful; I particularly loved the scene in the Judge's hotel where Kat and Mr. "B" meet again. Unfortunately, I did not like the narrator; her voice was uncomfortable to listen to and I was not impressed by the character voices, especially Bobby
Lisa Gardener's books are wonderfully addictive from beginning to end. The characters stay in my head long after finishing the book. She is one of my favorites.
I liked the book, liked the story. Did not like the narrator's voice when doing male voices. Like marlon Brando with a Boston accent.
Like all Lisa Gardner books this story was filled with turns and suspenseful twists. The performance was wonderful so no complains there. It took some time to get use to the readers voice and tone but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed the reading.
This may be because it was the unabridged version, but many things were repeated multiple times over and over and over again. Certain points in the book I started to zone out. I would recommend an abridged version of available bc the story is still great
This book exceeded my expectations with its engaging twits throughout and interesting gripping ending. Narrator very good and easy to follow different characters !
Unlike others, I didn't have a problem with the narration. Sometimes the publishers request the distinct voices and I thought the narrator did a decent job maintaining it.
I thought the book was fine, but not great. Mostly I was disappointed in the end, which felt like a big southern cliche to me, which I find particularly tedious from non-southern writers. The characters were fairly interesting, but after listening through the whole thing I was left feeling a little let down. I'm always looking for more thriller writers, but I may continue my search elsewhere.
This book has you following Bobby Dodge. A common character in many of Gardner's books but who is normally in the shadows of the story. You will find yourself growing pretty attached to Mr. Bobby Dodge and not wanting to leave him in the end.
