His voice, as other reviewers have said, may be an issue for some. I got used to it within one listening. I've used guided meditations --my favorite is Shakti Gawain-- and relaxation tapes in the past. I like the way this hypnosis CD is constructed. And it certainly worked for me.
Throughout college, overtime work schedules, and now as a first time dad this audiobook has been a great resource for me throughout the years to help me unplug from day to day stresses and to relax where ever I can take a nap. it is true the more you listen the better it works.
I have a busy schedule and I often find myself trying to sleep but troubled with a head full of thoughts. Complete relaxant helps me clear my head and fall asleep. I sleep better when I listen to it. I highly recommend it.
I think that someone wont be disappointed if they are just looking for a hypnosis tape on relaxation. I was looking for something with more depth. It was to simple for me. With that said I have been researching and delving into this type of study for a long time so I might have been very happy with this tape if it were one of the first one's purchased.
If you are starting out with relaxation techniques, you might very well like it. If you are strongly versed, I'd choose something else.
It seemed like something that most anyone could have created, and not everyone does so if you don't want to write your own and recored it, try it out.

This is very effective. Of course, it is my first so I have nothing to compare it to. But for me, who has extreme anxiety/stress/insomnia, it worked! It is an hour long. I was asleep after the first 10 minutes and did not wake till morning. To answer audibles question in this section of review...I do not understand how the 'print version' would help at all.
Listened before bedtime and awoke the next morning very refreshed for the first time in a very long time, that was the first time I listened. Since, I have used some of the techniques during stressful episodes and shorted the panic attacks.
