"A debate on the value or necessity of prayer."
Struggled to finish. book was 15% mystery 85% preaching. BORING. Would not recommend to anyone.
"Romance and suspense without being slutty"
I love series books and can't wait for the next one. Why can't they make movies out of good books like these instead of some of the trash that is out there.
"As usual, love the O'Malley family"
Wonderful story- can't wait for the next installment! I feel like I'm part of the family. So strong and loving and each are the others best friends!!!
"Good read - didn't care for the reader"
I enjoyed that Marcus was such a great guy to Sherri. Rare these days
Anyone
The reader made Dave sound odd. Dave's voice began normal in the other books, but had a foreign accent or something in this reading. I don't much care for this reader, and the change for Dave made the experience worse.
"Love These Stories...in print or audible"
I've loved the O'Malleys since I read the books some years ago. I have been put off, from time to time, with the lack of really well-written Christian fiction; at times I've felt that authors were published in the Christian market simply because they mentioned God and avoided vulgarity rather than for the excellence of their writing. Not so with Dee Henderson--her stories are well-thought out, and her characters multidimensional. The protagonists exhibit flaws and redemption in a realistic way and there are twists and turns to keep mystery enthusiasts engrossed as well as romantic moments for those who are looking for a love story.
This is the first of the series that I've listened to so far. The one complaint I've had is that the narrator tends to use a nasal tone to indicate a female speaking. I am sure there are great challenges in making a deep voice, such as this narrator has, sound feminine, but I am a little put off by the whiny vibe I get. That being said, I find the story to flow quite well and the narrator maintains excellent pacing. I will listen to the entire series, I'm certain.
"A very nice read"
This was my first Dee Henderson book and I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of suspense and a very sweet love story. I fell in love with the characters.
"Remind me never to buy Henderson's books!"
The reviews rave about the writing and the awards. I can't take the stories.
The stories are all too sappy for me.
Too drab.
I couldn't listen long enough to decide.
"Worth the Read"
This was my first Dee Henderson book and I really enjoyed it. I thought the narrator was great! I thought it was a very good mystery story and I didn't think the romance overpowered the mystery. I will definitely listen to more of Henderson's books.
"lockhart 16"
Really, really weak. The characters are unrealistic and the romance is silly. More of a Harlequin romance than anything else. Highly rated, so I expected much, much more. Total fluff.
