I have been through many marriage books, but this one really struck a cord with me. Just excellent! I know I will recognize better where I can grow in my walk with the Lord and how I can love my husband deeper. This is a book I will go back through many times.
found it very impressive. great follow up book to reading The Meaning of Marriage. felt like Gary dove deeper. i really enjoyed his coverage of divorce. both for those in marriage and have been divorced. very biblical and balanced.
left me encouraged to strive for a godly marriage.
Mr. Thomas presents a wonderful portrait of what a marriage with a love for Christ at its center can be and achieve. By using marriage to strengthen our relationship with God Mr. Thomas gives every married couple a blueprint to a fulfilling life in Christ.
I struggled to really finish it. The way he had drawn judgments about people he doesn't personally know was a bit strange, but his point in doing so was to drive a principle or a lesson. it would be better if he consistently used examples of people he knew. but generally, it's a good listen and there are great points to pick up.
Valuable insights on how marriage (whether a good one or a troubled one) can be used by either spouse, or both, to grow spiritually, be used to serve God's purpose for your life, and glorify God in the process. This is a book for Christians that will help you to find sacred meaning in your marriage struggles, even if they don't improve, and help you to find comfort and purpose in God's plan for your life, even if your spouse remains the same. However, if Christ is leading you, you can be sure that redemption is always right around the corner.
I have the hard copy of this book and decided to purchase the audio version since I am always on the go. This is my first audio book and I loved it. I have already shared this with a friend! Everything he says makes you really take a look at yourself and challenges you to be better and do better because that is what God wants.
While this book is a great message on using the trials of marriage to build a stronger relationship with God, it does tend to get a little repetitive and lost my interest by the end. Overall, worth the read... But the message could most likely have been communicated just as throughly in half the time.
