Short rants on a variety of topics, with a conservative slant. You won't agree with him on all of them, but you'll love those that you do agree with.
The material was good but Glen Beck's animated voice of "the idiot" was sooooo obnoxious that I could not finish the book. His attempt to try to be cute was a total turn off. He looses the impact of the supporting information because he acts so juvenile. This is the type of book that makes conservatives look like IDIOTS! Loved the material hated the presentation.
Literary graduate and published columnist turned glorified grease monkey.
Why on Earth did he need to have 3 narrators, this was a mistake. He didn't use this method in his other books. I didn't think this one was anywhere near as good as his first book title "An Inconvenient Book" which was more informative and funnier. But, the "ADD moments" get really annoying and the 3 narrators don't do this book any favours. The acutally content of the book is informative but it stretches in parts. And again Beck is openly a pure-blood conservative.
Not bad, but not as good as I was hoping.
I wished I would have paid attention in school when history class was in session. I can't believe I was so ignorant of the workings of government.
Glen did a wonderful job of clearly addressing each subject and backing up his opinions with hard facts. As always I enjoyed his brand of humor that kept the book from becoming dry and boring.
This book is excellent in every imaginable way. I just wish there was a way to get idiots to read it, because he gives real solid, fact based arguments.
Liberal, retired, special ed teacher teacher from California (quite the cliche ) now living near Montreal. I love to play and watch tennis
"Arguing with Idiots" an aptly titled book in which Glenn Beck perfectly voices the part of the liberal "straw man" and has his co-narrators bat down his inane arguments (surprise, Glenn plays the idiot). Essentially this is more of his daily show and if you like his show you're sure to like this book. Glenn's topics seem to be most of the right wing talking points from Reagan to now, but "why in god's name?", has he left out "trickle down economics", my all time favorite (tear running down my cheek without the aid of Vick's VapoRub)). Seriously I found it juvenile, sophomoric, absent any pretense of intellectual honesty (just like his show). If this is your thing, then Idiots enjoy (don't hurt yourselves).
This has to be one of Glenn's best book's to date. With Glenn you either love him or hate him, so if your part of the hate him crowd the books not for you. If however, you are with the love him group this book is dead on.
After the first chapter I was hooked, this is an incredible book and a must listen. It's amazing how we are constantly bombarded by the media with information and content that they skew dramatically to the left. Yet when fair questions arise in their opposition the person is viewed at a radical or personally attacked. I guess some of the media and most politicians do not believe some things like fact, statistics, and history which is the premise of book and which is why I would hugely recommend this and is one reason why I'm now a huge Glenn Beck fan!
this book is great, glenn beck presents the facts of a great deal of issues in a way even an idiot can understand but unfortunetly the idiot will still refute the facts lol.. its a great read for people of all ages, especially if you want to understand poltical issues, chapter 2 is an eye opener...
