The opening of this book started out fresh and exciting. But the minute Kadan entered, Mr. Brute Force Ghostwalker, the story dropped off the edge of a cliff and shattered. The continued, repetitive sex scenes reduced the plot to all of 12 pages. Ms. Feehan must have decided to try her hand at erotica with a little story line thrown in. What made it even worse was the abusiveness of Kadan toward Tansy that the reader was expected to buy into. The writing was horrid, and I'm being generous here. If I heard "ice in his veins" one more time, I thought I was going to scream. The reuse of the same lines over and over again was ridiculous. Five hours into the book, I finished it up in my head figuring Kadan would save the day and then marry Tansy and subject her to a life of abusive control. Whether the book ended there or not I have no idea because it simply wasn't worth finishing. Buy something else.
I have read all the ghost walker books and this one was horrible. The first 5 hours was all sex and then the rest of the book had sex mingled in so you missed most of the story when you fast forward through the sex. If you like the ghost walker series just skip this one if you haven't read any of the others don't bother with this book period.
I love the Ghostwalker books BUT this one is stupid!
Might try one more.
Stupidly, sounds like he is masterbating while reading!
The writer! She must have really gotten off track with this one!
I have to fast forward through so much of it because just cannot stand to hear the sex again and again,,,, I forget what the story is about. I love the other books and the sex is good in them BUT this one truly sucks!
I love this series and the narrator, however this installment was a huge sex fest. Now Im all for the hot and heavy but I need some action and plot inbetween. I felt like they were having sex all day and all night as if the bad guys would wait for them to finish...but all in all I pushed through and was rewarded with another great story from Christine Feehan.
If you listen to the series you expect the original voice for each of the characters, (If the voice of Ryland is gruff and Nico is lethal, then it shoud be that way through the whole series)but that is not the case, all the leads sound like Ryland. In each story the all of the leads have the same voice, except the ones with accents. And he does not read the female parts very well. I would suggest that a female narrator start reading the for the parts of the women. Maybe I should not have listened to them back to back but the females started to sound whiny and that is not fair to the story since that is clearly not the case. He is a good narrator and handles the different accents well the only thing I would suggest is consistency and a female to read the parts of the women.
As usual, Ms. Feehan has delivered an awesome thriller/mystery/lovestory. I enjoy the story line as well as the love story. And after reading several comments, I scoff at those who denounce the love scenes. I figured the men wouldn't like the love scenes due to lack of imagination. I wish the men would take less offense and decide to use some of the 'moves' with the woman they love. And I am disappointed in the women who comment that the love scenes are too much. A real woman would gladly enjoy the fantasy of this kind of lovemaking as I am sure they aren't getting such satisfaction at home; and wishing they did.
The story was interesting, but would have been a short story without the trite sexual descriptors.
