I like mostly fantasy - Robert Jordan, Charlaine Harris, Jim Butcher, Patricia Briggs, etc.
Robert Jordan exceeds J.R. Tolkien in the world of epic fantasy. By far the best series ever written. I've read it 4 times & just listened to the series on audio. The narrators are great. I'll listen to other books they'v narrated after this.
For me it began slowly and I didn't remember some of the characters and put it down for awhile. Then when I started it again and got through the first few chapters it was one of the best of the series in my opinion. For those that feel the beginning slow, stick with it and you will be rewarded. I really enjoyed the story line and character development. I felt apart of the story even though it is fantasy I felt it was very real and enjoyed the readers. I groaned when it ended and enjoyed the interview with the author at the end of the book. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Hope it won't be to long in coming out.
Finally after 4-5 long and boring books, comes a book worthy of the first 5 books. The plots start coming together and is preparing the end of the series. My only problem is that now I need to wait 1-2 years for the final instalment (and it better be the final one.)
Yet another great book in the cliff hanger wheel of time series by Robert Jordan. Can't wait until the next book comes out.
Robert Jordan's Knife of Dreams in October; George R.R. Martin's Feast for Crows in November; what's to complain about? Hopefully Paolini's fans will get interested in the genre and discover true masters of fantasy like these authors.
Robert Jordan finally comes back with a book with more action than politics. Jordan ties off some of the plotlines from previous books and readers will tell that he's preparing to end the series. For all those who hate reading about the female characters this book focuses more on the male characters than the female ones. However, I suspect the next book will lean heavily towards Egwene and the Aes Sedai.
I love the wheel of time, my 2nd favorite series (next to Ender's game series).. Anyway my guff is not with WOT its with people rating this book! Its been rated 8 times so far since it was released ohh about 17 hours ago, thats all fine and nice that 8 people reviewed it already, but riddle me this.. Its 32 hours long! and came out 17 hours ago! hmmm the math doesn't add up.. Im not to sure anyone can take the audible rating system seriously with junk like this... something to think about people..
The best so far. Too bad he died before he could finish the series.
