I enjoyed his writing very much in this book with very intimate, personal stories still told with a great balance of wit and feeling. Sorry, but I HATED the addition of Amy Sedaris's voice in the narration. It snapped me out of the zone I was in with David and made the stories seem less authentic somehow. Like being engrossed in a play until all of sudden the actress's wig falls off.
In any case, it's still worth the (unfortunately abridged) time to listen to the book.
Audible Obsessed Commuter.
There were parts of this book that had me laughing out loud at the grocery store. Others that had me scratching my head in confusion at the disjointed timeline, story, or point he was trying to make.
I found this to be mildly entertaining but not nearly as funny as Me Talk Pretty One Day. Consistently found myself laughing out loud when listening to that book. This one just gave me an occasional chuckle.
I'm Hooked! This is story telling at its best! If you're someone who likes listening to fun and enjoyable story telling with excellent narrative this is for you!
Thank you David Sedaris
Love the many voices of Amy Sedaris

Love David Sedaris, especially listening to his narration. Feel like I've spent hours at the comedy club and hurt from laughing out loud!
