I read/listen to drown out the nonsense.
I like Nora Roberts, most of the time, and I think I need to actually read this book rather than listen to it. The reader drove me nuts, so much that I couldn't get through the first 45 min. I cannot really address the story because I haven't listened to all of it, I gave the story so far 3 stars because I figured that's a good middle ground.
I normally like Nora Roberts books, but this one seemed to drag and I gave up listening to it before the end.
Day dreaming book lover!
Some other reviewers didn't like the male narrator but I disagree. I enjoyed this audiobook thoroughly. It was filled with humor, sadness and touching moments. I will definately get the next 2 books in the trilogy.
Loved it. My first audiobook experience. But Nora Roberts is a known entity so I took the chance. Another super story from her hand. Cannot wait to get the remaining two volumes in the series.
The story line, vocabulary, and all around presentation was excellent. I was expecting a mystery novel when I purchased this book, but was not disappointed and was pleasantly surprised as I got into the story.
Totally addicted to Audible.
Narrator does read way too fast but the heroine is hard to mess up in this book.
This just wasn't good at all. I expected more of Ms Roberts! I found it hard to even finish. Narration wasn't too interesting either. Not worth the sale price!
This book would have been much more enjoyable if the narrator didn't read at the speed of light without seeming to have to take a breath. The Irish brogue is tolerable but with little inflection or pause, it's hard to follow the dialogue at times. Plus, the narrator doesn't have a wide range for female voices so most are difficult to distinguish.
I'm a fan of Nora Roberts and I'm sure the book would be a good read, but this particular narration is not one of my favorites.
