Separation of church and psychology. This book had a plethora of 'parables' but no real tools that I think most of us can adopt ino our own lives.
I don't think someone who sees religion as such a central life/love ingredient could write a book without all the preaching.
The reading was fair to midland.
It is good and present the topics in an eloquent and consistent flow.
I am new to audiobooks and had not listened to much. However, The 7 Secret of Highly effective people is also a very beautiful book to listen to
Yes. He is clear and consistent
The five languages are enough lesson to learn and practise.
If this book has done nothing else, it did give me some perspective on the way my spouse thinks.
I enjoyed it very much that wasn't the problem.
It was fine as it was.
Not at all.
my issue was not with the story, it was with Audible's restriction of only being able to burn it once onto disc. I did this but it didn't burn well, it skipped and dragged so I wasn't able to use the cd.
An avid reader of all kinds of books. I love classic science fiction writers like Frank Herbert, Isaac Asimov, and Douglas Adams. But I am, in fact, a "leaf on the wind" when it comes down to it.
Well I'm sort of biased to audio books because love be read to. This reading was great though out was the content more than anything that makes this book great.
This is a helpful listen to tweak any Love Relationship. I would highly reccomend it.
It was pleased to discover the premise of the text was not based upon religion. The concepts were understandable and readily employable and made common sense.
I always enjoy it when the author reads his own text.
Yes, I would recomment this book to others, especially my family. It makes it easy to open lines of communication that can help them feel appreciated and loved.
I liked the stories about other couples that are struggling to understand each other and how they were able to overcome years of communication issues.
I think what became most obvious is that we try to love others how we would like to be loved. I need to ask each person what makes them feel loved and do that everyday.
Not at the top, but it was easy and helpful to hear
I will investigate with my wife which languages are most important to each of us and proceed from there.
I was a bit leery, not being a Christian, that I might find the preacher leaking into the message - well, it did, a little, but not so as to distract from a well thought-out and experienced program and practical suggestions. I think it would be valuable for anyone in a love relationship to think about the various languages and how they affect each partner
I could recommend this book to another guy. He tells you how to speak the language that your wife or girlfriend understands. I have heard for years that men and women don't communicate in the same way. This book goes in depth telling how they differ.
He gives many real life examples of miscommunication between the sexes and how to correct it if you want to .
I think it would have been better if he had someone without a heavy southern accent read the book. I'm from the south and he was a little distracting to me. Don't get me wrong it's not like he's Larry the Cable Guy.
I used the information and it did make a difference with my communication with my wife. But it is hard to keep it going because it is so easy to slide back into old patterns.
