This book is well worth the listen, though i found it repetitive and long winded at times. That said, its definitely got valuable insights and provides a lot of indepth research to back up the concepts. I actually wished I was listening to it at home so i could have taken notes at key points - listening to it in the car i now have to re-listen to jot down the key take outs. would be good if the chapters were named not just numbered to facilitiate the listener in going back to gather ideas for application after listening to the whole thing.
This is the first book in a long time that I have relistened to immediately after finishing the first time around. It covers a lot of information, and I found it very inspiring.
It was long, but I found the content very convincing.
As one previous reviewer said, it may not be for everyone, because it delves quite deeply and can be a bit repetative, but I found myself rewinding and listening to snippets again and again.
Great grist for my particular mill.
The content is really quite good and the narration is okay too. I really enjoyed learning from the authors and the only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of the organization of the information. It's a bit like a patchwork quilt in that it only looks good when you have the perspective to see a lot of it at once - up close it just seems mismatched. The subjects covered in the book all span all of the chapters, so you get a little bit of each story in each chapter, which made it a little hard to follow.
But don't let me get carried away being negative because I really, really enjoyed the book and will likely listen to it again.
I expected a potential few good thoughts but was pleasantly surprised by a well organized and thoughtful study of influece. Some affirmation of the common sense strategies I already employ, but added new dimension to those, while also introducing new views expand upon. Also applies to helping my autistic child organize himself. Good, straight forward narration. Liked the way they applied the same theorize/techniques to a repeated variety of examples (i.e. an over eater, a village, etc.). Ended up pleasantly surprised at a better than expected book.
I have been in sales/management for many years. This book is an outstanding in-depth dive into the psychology behind influence and how to influence. Do not miss an opportunity to grow.
The best part in this book is a title. You can skip the rest, which is out of scope as described on the cover.
The first Audible book I decided to not listen at 4/5 till the end. If you find something interesting at the last 1/5 make a post please and I will come back to this book.
