I listened to this one first because all the reviewers said it was their favorite of the series. I would have immediately started listening to this book again if I hadn't become instantly and overwhelming addicted to hearing the entire series.
As a big fan of the written Black Dagger Brotherhood series, I had high expectations of the quality of this book, which is one of my favorites of them all. The pathos and badass nature of the writing really come out with this reading. JR Ward's writing style is not for the wilting-lily romance reader--it is hard-biting, and gets every scrap of pain from her characters. This reading by Jim Frangione definitely does it justice. Hop on and go for a ride! I enjoy that I can purchase this from Audible, because the download price is much less salty than purchasing hard copies (of whichever format) directly from Recorded Books. Thank you, Audible.com.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Deep.. Very deep! Lol... Glad Zadist found his HEA... Bella was pretty awesome too... I still think Beth is my favorite shellan.
Zadist's story has always been my favorite of the series. I love Z's character evolution. I love how strong Bella's character is.
This has the typical BDB format but Z's history is very ugly and the struggle he must go through to overcome it is heartbreaking.
The narrator read in a mono-toned voice throughout the entire book until the last few chapters, then he decided to give the butler an original voice- one that was pretty good, I might add. Why he couldn't even read the sentence markings (sound more excited when there was an explanation mark or raise his tone at the end of the sentence when it's a question mark) is beyond me. You could tell how very uncomfortable he was with the unique lingo- such has "What's doing." This book and it's characters deserved better.
Yes and no..... yes because I love this book and have read it many times....no because of the narrator.
I would buy this book all over again if only Phil Gigante would narrate! (hint hint audible)
This is the book I started out with, cause it was on sale, and I absolutely love Zsadist His story is most compelling. He is raw and gritty but you come to love him. His story is like beauty and the beast.
I am 46 & love audible books. I think the quality of TV is crap so I use my listen daily.
a little sexually graphic but v. good
I am married with a teenage son and run my own business. As I am visually impaired, audio books are my life.
AS USUAL NOT MUCH OF A STORY LINE BUT STILL WORTH A LISTEN, I'VE BEEN GETTING ATTACHED TO THE BROTHERHOOD BOY AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE REST OF THE SERIES
