I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
Tormented, reborn, peace
Bella, because she looked beyond the scars and saw the soul.
Great book! Great series!
I can find a book to love in any genre -- a beautifully written classic, an interesting mystery or sci-fi, a trashy romance. Bring it!
STORY - Even though this is the third book in this series, it is my first and also my last. I like hot romance novels, but this book seems to have been written just to set up situations for sex. There are some minor subplots, but the main story is about a male warrior vampire, Zsadist, who is mentally screwed up from being used as a feeding/sex slave because he's so well-endowed. He's a very dark character. As other reviewers have said, the book is about a painful journey and overcoming tragedy, etc., which is true, but IMHO it was a very dark, amateur story with hot sex but very little romantic appeal.
PERFORMANCE - Narrator was okay.
OVERALL - I can't recommend this book, but if you like dark, sexual stories with happy endings, you might enjoy this one.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
I got this on sale and have tried to love this series but it is not one I will use credits on. I like Thea Harrison and Kresley Cole for my paranormal listening.
The only reason I listened to the first three books was b/c of a sale. The first book had an amusing storyline but I wasn't really looking forward to book 2. Book 2 was less amusing and less bearable but decent enough to finish. Book 3 may save this series for mel...we'll see.
I loved the story of Zsadist. Of the first three, this is hands-down the best in the series thus far. The author finally takes the time to develop a brother-hood character and other characters, like John, along the way. Personally, I can't stand the ridiculous vernacular the author gives the brother hood's slang.
Anyhoo, this story really almost has it all (minus my small personal annoyances): love/hate angles, refusing to die bad guys, multiple self loathing/awareness/acceptance angles, fight scenes, creepy serial killer moments, Hope/Suspense, actual surprises you don't see coming. No really, for most at least 1 surprise will catch you off guard.
In sum, if you were at all intrigued by the Zsadist character in the other novels you will love this book! If you haven't listened to any of the books in the series maybe cliff note book one and then enjoy this book!
love this books J R War. did an excellent job. hope she can continue to write this adventures books that takes us to another dimension. will continue to read.
Ps: I was in traduce to this books by a friend and since then been reading anything JR War...........
Loved the story. The best in series so far. But come ON... PLEASE!!!??? Call a boot a boot, at least once in a while and not a shit-kicker. By the middle of the story that was truly on my last nerve and had me wanting to shut down the whole story. I mean, why add something so unfortunate to such great literature? Mistake on the author's part in my opinion. Otherwise, the story was wonderful. Had me run through every emotion imaginable and took me through them again.
Zadist!!! I loved him from book 1. But this book really hurt my heart. I won't give spoilers, but I cannot believe the writer did that! I just can't believe it! SMH
