"I really enjoyed"
So far each of the books in this series has been really enjoyable. I am disappointed that it is now becoming an epic like the "Wheel of Time" series, I'm still waiting for the end.....12 books. How many will it be before this series ends.....I hope it's under 5, however so far each book has been well done.
"Interesting Story...But"
My review is for the entire work. I will not be continuing to the fourth book. I found Paolini's work entertaining, though not in a thoughtful way. Perhaps it is because Christopher is a very young author, I didn't find the characters very deep. The writing is good, a decade of life experience will be helpful. Spend some time with Patrick Rothfus.
I was willing to finish the series, but increasing the price to 2 Audible credits sealed my decision. There are too many great works out there to overspend on a new author.
I use Audible books for exercising. It is entertainment to mask my pain. There are thousands of large great works for 1 Credit. Try Uncle Tom's Cabin or Atlas Shrugged.
"A bit long this book should have been the end."
To be honest I felt the book had a slow start and made up for it only after I listen to 1/2 of the book. It could have been shorter and should ended the trilogy with this third book. But now it is called "the third book in the cycle" and who knows how many more books there will be. If the next book is not the end I will not buy it. After 10 years it is time to end it Christopher and find something else to write and entice us about. I don't like to be strung along.
"Hard to finish..."
Boy I loved the story, but this latest installment was a bit tough to finish. I got bored.
Here's hoping Christopher writes many more books, but perhaps he needs to explore some new characters or a new story line.
"better 4 children"
Particularly at the beginning of this book, I felt that it had been written for sub teens. As the book went on, it seemed that the auther matured and it was more appropriate for teenagers and adults. Ultimately, it was an enjoyable listen.
It is unfortunate that the author decided to take the advertised Trilogy and make it to a Quadrilogy. He states in his postmortem that he simply had too many things to put into the third book. I suspect the truth is he realized he could make more money extending this to a fourth book. In any case, when he comes out with his fourth book, I will buy it and listen to it. Unless, it turns out that he has decided that the story won't end and requires a fifth book, in which case I won't purchase the fourth book.
"Can't wait for the next one"
My kids started on this series but I seem to enjoy the stories even more. The characters have really developed in this book and are very gripping, I hated to stop listening. I have to say I like this one the best and I think it's tough to beat the original. I am waiting impatiently for the next book, oh yeah so are my boys.
"Good listen"
Very predictable, but in a good way. Alot of things that I thought would happen in this book did happen. I'm quite disapointed that Paolini is stretching out the series. However, I will be looking forward to the next installment.
"Superb Read/Listen"
I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next.
