I live near Western NC so their descriptions of carving a life out of a wilderness was amazing to me. There were so many parts of this story that I loved. Lord John Gray and Brianna, Ian leaving to be a Mohawk brought tears to my eyes, especially his letter to Jamie and Claire. There were parts of this story, though, that had me tearing my hair out. Maybe a better title for the book should be COMMUNICATE! So many misunderstandings and awful things happened due to lack of communication. I was very frustrated with this but figured Diana Gabaldon knew what she was doing. I love listening to the story, because it makes me stay with it. If I were reading the book, I would be skimming and going forward to see how everything resolves and in doing that would miss so much of her incredible detail. Voyager remains my favorite after Outlander but I did love this book!
I'm hooked on the Outlander Book Series!! The ongoing love story of Jamie and Claire Frazier and how they live their interesting lives together is astonishing. This book is intertwined with Scottish and American History in the 1900's and the 1700's. Very intriguing.
I've been an avid reader all my life and this is the best book series I've ever read. I'm on my third run through of the series. Davina Porter is my favorite narrator--such a pleasure to hear Diana Gabaldon's beloved books come to life with her fantastic narration.
no I enjoy reading a book and forgot how much I enjoy being read to when needing to relax
