I enjoyed this book as I have all of them but I get frustrated with the communication between characters - every time someone doesn't finish a sentence or decides not to communicate important information to another character, the reader can almost see the coming comedy of errors and disaster that will ensue as a result. It seems to be a common thread in the stories and if course the resulting disasters are the meat of the book, but after a while it feels like a bad sitcom with everyone running around to correct a problem that wouldn't have happened if only they'd communicated better.
Loved the first 2 Outlander books and this one was good but definitely not as good as the first 2 and even 3rd... getting worried about the fifth one I've already bought, I use audible and It takes forever to listen to the unabridged version... It seems like this last book could have been written just as good with half the words, it honestly drove me crazy sometimes...
Fantasy & Sci-Fi lover who mostly refuses to read books without their audiobook counterparts. How else can a girl get any housework done?
I absolutely loved Drums of Autumn. It has everything I love ğďall in one book. Bree & Roger's story gets really good in this one, so those of you who haven't warmed u-p to ne--ither character will probably find them liking these two a lot now. Seriously, sooo much happened in this book...its a fun ride and I loved the ending! If you love Outlander, this reading this book is a no-brainer. You will love"" it!
I love love love this Outlander series!! Looking forward to the next book!!! The reader is awesome. Totally nails the accents!! Wouldn't be the same me just reading it myself lol.
This is my favorite book from the series. it couldn't be any better. I love that they are together and living life and experiencing things as a couple. Most books are about people getting together and then that's the end of it but this one is about their lives.
I just finished listening to it for the second time, it was better than the first time
I can't get enough, love these books and and reading them again. can't wait for the new season of the show to come out too. I think they are doing such a good job.
great book great book great book great book engaging great engaging great engaging book so great awesome love story
Another great book in the outlander series that has everything you would want in a book, romance, conflict, adventure and plot twists aplenty.
The only thing I can comment on negatively is that the narrator forget how she did roger and Brianna's voices in the previous books. Now roger sounds exactly like Jamie, when before he didn't have much of an accent and had a different tone altogether. I got over it though. Still an excellent performance. Davina porter does a beautiful job of acting, voices and story telling.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes good long stories, and this book and performance to any existing outlander fans!
