The book was repetitive and a little annoying at times. The second part was just boring. I think I will stick with the movie. I think it was much better.
First of all I have never read a book by Nicholas Sparks that I did not enjoy and love, some I have read more than twice...his storied take me away from the present. The narrator's voice was perfect for the fabulous story, one I won't forget. The feelings he made come to life! You will enjoy, for that I am sure.
I don't believe I would, however, I may re-read the print version.
I think it was a bit too perfect. The ending was very story book fairy tale and I found myself hoping for a little more realness. I also wish there was a female narrator for the female parts.
I thought he was the absolute best pick for all the male voices. The way he said "ok" was just swoon worthy.
Travis. He was just such an honest, smart, loyal, loving, devoted husband and father. How could he not be your favorite?
How far would you go for love?
Nicholas Sparks sure does know how to write a sweet and sappy romance novel.
Obviously, I enjoyed this book based on my rating, but thats mainly because I just love all of his books. This was probably one of my least favorite by him only because it seemed a bit too perfect, the ending too children's story book.
One of the main points and I'm pretty positive the reason for the title "The Choice" is that the husband is faced with ending his wife's life support o which she has been on for 3 months. Previously, they had drawn up living wills to which she stated she did not want to be left in that state, but after 3 months he decided he could not disclose to the doctors about the choice and documents that Abby had decided upon. They ended up moving her to a nursing home, where miraculously she wakes up, pretty much unfazed.
I read this book on audible, there was only one male narrator who also narrated the female parts. I am not a fan of that, but he did a pretty accurate job once you get accustomed to hearing a male voice speak for a woman. He gave life to the husband and I believe he was perfectly cast for that part. My favorite part about listening to this book had to be the music that began and ended the chapters.
I would recommend this book to all my fellow Nicholas Spark fans or anyone else who is yearning for a sugary, sweet romance novel.
