"Great book!"
As always, love his sense of humor and light mystery. I stumbled upon him 6 months ago and think he's really a good refreshing author. Must read!
"Please Mr. Rosenfelt keep Writing"
I have now listened to TWO of this wonderful Authors audiobooks and I am Totally Hooked. His entertaining, witty and self-effacing character, Andy Carpenter (although the actual main character may be be his faithful companion, the ever Lovable Fourlegged "Tara") has a way of luring you into rooting for his side even though he is one of those dastardly professionals, a Defense Lawyer. Play Dead grabs onto you from the get-go and just won't let loose until the very satisfying ending. I laughed out loud more then once, and was filled with glee over and over. I cried when Reggie was stolen, I cried when the first Verdict was less then righteous, but mostly I was filled with wonder and delight by this amazing story and these fleshed out and funny characters. If you like witty dialouge (and musings) and if you LOVE dogs, you just MUST Listen to this Book. I quarantee you'll be glad you did.
Listening to contemporary and historical fiction, mysteries/thrillers, and the occasional bio or memoir. Narration is key; nothing is more distracting than a poor telling of a good story! My rating scale: 5=Love It; 4 = Like It; 3 = It's Okay; 2 = Not So Good; 1 = Bad, Really Bad.
"A Legal Romp Filled with Laughs . . and Suspense!"
If you're looking for a really fun (and funny) read that contains serious legal procedure and investigatory work, look no further. This book will catch you from the beginning with its wry humor and engaging suspense. Enjoyed listening to it from start to finish. DON'T miss the "credits" and "thanks" the author extends at the end. Lots of fun!

"Great addition to a great series"
I went back through my library to listen to the Andy Carpenter series from Book One, and I'm enjoying it more than ever. These books are modestly short, and wonderfully relaxing to listen to, and Grover Gardener's easy, youthful voice and vague NJ accent are a delight. This book was a pretty wild ride, but so far (this is the latest one I've heard, although I have 3 more downloaded, I think the David Rosenfelt is a genius at consistency. His plots are always clever, always dog-friendly but not cloyingly so, and his characters are beyond endearing. You have to LOVE these people. Very worth a credit, OR full price, as you can listen again and again. I can't wait to start the next one!
"Excellent"
I don't even like dogs and I loved this book. Very dry sense of humor. Narrator was great too.
"caught me by suprise"
this book was so well written and grabed my attention from the begining. I could not stop until I had all the disks done. I had to get it out of my car and listen to it in the house because I could not wait to listen to it only in my car.m The suspense was intense, and the judicial system irritating, and the outcome fantastic.
"Entertaining"
Written with wit and style and narrated equally well. An engaging story that I had to finish.
"Two thumbs up!"
Great book, spectacularly well written. Love the main character's personality, honesty and commitment. David Rosenfelt doesn't beat on the main character, like so too other authors do so tirelessly. I've listened to the whole series and can't wait until the next one!
