I'm open to any book as long as it is true to itself.
The Bond stories are always a reliable staple of mine - whenever I am stuck for something to listen to I can rely on a Bond book. This is a strong Bond book. Quite different from the film. I find that Bond himself is so much more interesting in print than he is on screen. I would recommend any of the Bond books, but this would be a great one to listen to if you want to try one out.
I am a 30 year old over-the-road truck driver. I listen to A LOT of audiobooks!
Mr. Fleming once again delivers a great book, and Mr Vance once again delivers a great performance. It is really a great book, and a good listen, I just prefer the other Bond novels over this one. Everyone has to have a "least favorite." Still though, I would recommend it to any Bond fan.
This is a fabulously written book!! Simon Vance's performance is incredible! The story still holds up after so many years! A great listen!
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read. ~Attributed to Groucho Marx
Yes, Lots of twist and turns.
The ending, there is a twist at the end that I was not expecting.
He is the perfect James Bond
I am not a fan of the James Bond movies, but I am becoming a fan of the books, I am working my way through the series and they are a great listen.
Absolutely! You can always get into the story more on a 2nd listen.
The best feature about From Russia with love was the fact they used Simon Vance as the narrative. That British accent made the audiobook seem more...realistic.
I'd recommend this book to any Bond fan. The WhisperSync for Voice was also amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of switching from eBook to audiobook, but this was different and was expanding on the experience.
great beginning about SMESH .
The history of SMESH and some of its guys.
This is one of the great retro Ian Fleming novels, and includes an inside look at SMERSH.
The girl, a Russian spy
They did make a film. It was one of President Kennedy's favorites.
The book ends with an unexpected twist, which prompted me to do some additional research about the book & story.
