I bought two other talking Bibles, one with a very well known actor whose voice everyone enjoys. His performance is fantastic but I sometimes can't hear him over the background music plus if I try to listen at bedtime, the music puts me to sleep. My goal was to "read" the entire Bible and I don't need the inspirational music. It's very distracting.
This version is voice only and very well done. I've never read the NKJV Bible - I'm a King James fan - but the translation is good and close to King James without the archaic language, for instance, it uses the modern term allow instead of the archaic suffer.
The other reviews are correct about the indexing being off. That's the only reason for 4 stars overall. St John, for instance, starts in the middle of what is indexed as chapter 69. It would be nice if it started on an index.
This is a great idea, but I wish they had considered the cd format a little more carefully. Part 1 is the only portion that I have copied to cd, it took 6 cds and the last one only contained 11 minutes of material. I have two mp3 players, neither of which are supported, and I can't convert this to simple ,p3 to copy to my players because the material is "protected." It looks like I am either going to be wasting some cds, or only listening on my pc. This is unfortunate because I got it to listen to when I'm working outside.
More on arrangement. Part 1 has sections for Genesis chap.1-50 then Exodus 51-90 then 91 is the audible tag that says this book is continued on the next part. The parts did not organize as expected(1,2,3 etc) Parts instead organized by no decimal rule ( 1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.) Each time I opened one part, It moved to the carousel front place and was out of the original order. It took 2 weeks to figure out how to find desired chapters. The ability to hear bible read for nightly devotionals is worth the trouble due to places that do not have strong enough wi-fi to run Bible apps.

The reading is good. The scripture must be narrated according to punctuation - like all reading it's key to understanding. This recording is, for the most part, true to the punctuation. However, the primary fault is navigation -- selecting what you want to listen to. You really don't know where you are in the book. It's most annoying.
This question is irrelevant to this book in my opinion.
Again, irrelevant IMO.
Yes, I've watched most of the Bible movies.
The reading is good.
Going through the bible more than once is important because the 2nd time or 3rd time you learn more. This audio bible is so easy to follow and understand and read perfectly.
It's the Bible
Price is its good point.
I bought it because of price and his performance.
Since the book downloads in multiple icons there should be a way to know which books of the Bible are covered by each icon!
The is the best audio bible I've heard. No drama with background noise. No English accent as though I were listening to an opera. Just well narrated.
It does is not "better" than the print version, but it did allow me to listen to the whole book in just a few days, while I did other things (especially through a lot of the Old Testament). Now I can go back and study the books/sections in print that I need/want to study. It was nice to review the whole book again though.
My only preference would have been that it be broken up into some smaller pieces. Sometimes I would not turn off my mp3 player completely and it would play to the end or when the battery died (this long!). Luckily I know the story so I knew how far to rewind it, but that might not be the case for everyone. The sound quality is excellent. I have impaired hearing so I appreciate that the sound was clear and not muffled like some audio books I've listened to.
uh.. let me think.. hm..Jesus? Yes.. I think so. But God was an important contributing character.. :-)
"In the beginning..."
Yes.. "He" often makes me laugh and sometimes cry. God has a sense of humor.
Loved the book. Great narrator!
Bob Souer did an excellent job. His voice has a relaxed vocal pitch that makes you listen for hours. Thank you Audible.
Do not like that the titles of the Books in the Bible are not on the front cover of the audible books. Enjoyable to listen too, clear voice.
Served two combat tours in Vietnam all along the DMZ with the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS from there was selected for Marine Barracks 8th & I
i found that the audio version is far better then to sit and read the Bible as I felt I got more out of it
It is the word of God as spoken by man
I don't beleve I had a favorite
The whole bible is moving
