This is my first ever review and I feel compelled to write my opinion. I have read many of Dean Koontz's books and very much enjoyed the first two installments of Frankenstein but this (hopefully) last book in the series was a huge disappointment. Everything that was well thought out in the 1st two books was tangled and down-right silly in this one. I found myself turning it off because it was just so ridiculous only to find myself turning it on - just to finish the book. I'm sorry to say - save your money.
First I need to get this off my chest. I read almost every Dean Koontz book and some were not that great, like Sole Survivor, but Frankenstien has tickled my fantasy bone. I loved the other 2 frankenstien's and I was not going to get this book because someone wrote a neg review and he was articulate, and I believed him. Well, I didn't get it, and finally I said "what the hell" and I changed my mind and got it anyway. It was extremely entertaining and I really needed entertainment.
The person who gave this work of art a neg is totally wrong. I loved the ending, and the garbage dump crew and erica 4. and what about jacko? I loved this book and I highly recommend it if you want some great koontz fun.
First off, let me say the narrator was just fine. If I were rating on his performance, this book would get 4 stars. But as it is ...
Dreadful. Childish. Chaotic. Rambling. Pointless. Anticlimactic.
This book reads like a pastiche of several authors, one in which the editor gave up on attempts to reconcile wildly different threads.
Very disappointing. The first two volumes in the series had their problems, but the central idea, the creative treatment of the Frankenstein story was enough to bring me back, hoping for the best.
Ah well, back to Mary Shelley.
I enjoyed the book and the characters. I was disappointed in the absolutely Unredeemable nature of the protagonists. Some of the scenes felt campy instead of well thought out or well planned. I'm hopeful that there's more character development in the last book(s). It's hard to believe this is the author of the odd Thomas books...read the face for a more suspenseful novel. I'd rather Sherlock dead than diminished.
I know I shouldn't like this gory series but I do. It reads like a TV mini-series and it's pretty gross, but I laughed at the humor and enjoyed it not trying to make it more than it was. So I may not recommend the series to everyone. I can't deny I liked it.
The Narrator has a deep rich voice and is very good.
I knew what to expect getting into it because I read the other reveiws. be warned, the book does just stop. I believe this is a money grab, which turns me off. that being said, if you like the first 3 books, you should enjoy this one too.
Yes, Good story keeping you on the edge of you seat.
Great performance like to hear him do more
Would if I could but, No time does not permitt that
Really enjoyed the first book of this series. Book 2 and 3 spent too much time rehashing what had already happened. Book 3 could have been cut down by 40%. The storyline continues to be entertaining, but after book 3 it's loosing its luster.
Maybe if the first 3 books were made into 1 movie.
