This was one of my favorite books in the Chicago series. I love the storyline. Great book and excellent listen!
Maybe reading it, but I am never listening to this woman again.
I took a shot on this book based on all the comments and the rave reviews of the narration, which I'm really picky with. I couldn't pre-listen to a sample, so I went with it as it's so well-reviewed, but I am really wishing I had saved a credit on this. Her voice is so clinical and old, the voices she does of kids are great, but her general narration detracts from the actual story. FYI- I love the narration of Bernadette Dunne and Rosalyn Landor, so if you do too, and narration is a big deal to you- AVOID this!
i read all the great reviews/ratings and decided to give this one a try but had a hard time finishing the book. I was hopeful that it might get better as the story progressed however I can't help but feel that it was a complete waste of my time listening to this embarrassing book. The story has no point but just seems like some immature girl's love fantacy. I will never pick up a book by this author.
"This Heart of Mine" was my second Phillips book, and I really enjoyed it. It was a cute story with likeable characters. It was, of course, completely predicable, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the listen!
I loved this book! It was funny, sweet and very well written and read! It made me smile several times and giggle even more! I highly recommend it if you want something fun to listen to!
I loved this book. The characters were great and the story funny and touching. I laughed out loud several times. The softball scene is great writing and well done in narration. Anna Fields really makes these characters come to life. SEP makes skillful use of the childrens book aspect of the main character to give the writing a creative punch- especially in the epilogue.
If you liked Nobody's Baby But Mine and Natural Born Charmer than you will surely like this witty romance.
Another hit for Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Chicago Stars' Kevin Tucker isn't planning on settling down soon, but then he hadn't been very observant. If Kevin lived the way he played QB maybe, just maybe he would have seen Molly Sommerville bearing down on him. Lots of old friends with the Calebow family running around and great new characters too.
I am a middle school reading teacher who loves to show students the wonder and joy of reading.
I really enjoyed this story and the narrator. It made walking the dog so much fun.
This is another great story from Susan Phillips. Hilarious and unexpected fun, it had you bursting out with laughter. Anna Fields did a marvelous job too with the voices. I especially like the banter between Benny and Daphne. However, on plot-wise, I like Match Me If You Can more. But that doesn't mean this is not a great story, oh no...
