I am a great fan of audio books. Audible is definitely one of my best friends. So many books, so little time!
This is my fourth listening of this book. I really enjoy the development of Nightingale Woods. And nobody read them like Anna Fields. I miss her voice.
Audiobook addict by now. ~ I love romances: historicals, suspense and stories about men who loves men (M/M).
Once again an enjoying SEP romance in the Chicago Stars series. I had a great listening and this narrator does it so good.
Time spent commuting passes by much easier listening to books. I prefer romance books but I do enjoy other books as well.
I'm trying to catch up on my reviews. I actually listened to this quite a while back. I think it might be time to listen again because it's a really nice read. SEP can always be counted on to write good, fun stories and this doesn't disappoint. I probably should have been a little put off by the way it started and maybe I was a little the first time I listened, but I'm not. The way the story develops the relationship between Molly and Kevin is very real to me. Molly seems a little pathetic at first, but she quickly come into her own and she became completely relatable to me. Kevin was strong from the beginning. You could certainly understand why he would be so upset with Molly in the beginning. As the story progresses and Kevin starts to get to know Molly you will totally fall in love with him too.
The Chicago Stars series are all wonderful books. I wish SEP would consider adding more. Although, I do understand it wouldn't be the same without Anna Fields as the narrator. Anna Fields was one of the best narrators out there. Sadly, she died in 2006 in an accident in her home during a storm.
All business but contemporary fun!
Kevin & Molly come together at a true SEP fashion, under very random/ hard to believe situation that results in a terrible hardship early on. However the heart breaking experience forged a deep bond between the two that make them stick together as they try to fight the attraction to each other in the most fun, witty and charming way. Another stunning book by SEP.
Say something about yourself!
I've really enjoyed SEP's books until now but do not find the act of rape to be an engaging catalyst for a romantic comedy. An unrepentant, mentally ill heroine just doesn't work for me.
Anna Fields was teriffic as usual, but I really don't care to continue with this book.
The 5th installment in the SEP's Chicago Stars is as heart-achingly sweet as the previous four books. Unlike so many romance novelists, SEP doesn't let her characters take an easy or overly-corny path to true love. In this book, good girl Molly Somerville finally gets, or perhaps snaps up, the chance to do something about her long time crush on bad boy Kevin Tucker. But their relationship ultimately reveals that Molly is more of a bad girl than her family ever realized and Kevin Tucker's past as a preacher's kid has made him more of a good guy than his bad boy antics would lead one to believe. It makes him the perfect guy for Molly, not because opposites attract but because her insecurities as an unloved kid means she needs someone who can prove their love to her.
Like pretty much all of the other books in this series, This Heart of Mine also features a sub-plot love story that, while less detailed, is just as important to the plot. Featuring a Hollywood actress and well-known painter, this secondary love story is as over dramatic and explosive as you'd expect.
But perhaps the best part of this book is the Daphne the Bunny excerpts from Molly's children's books. The voices Anna Fields does for the various characters are delightful. And the inclusion of these sections will satisfy your inner writer.
I haven't read the print version, but I have listened to the audio at least a dozen times, I absolutely love Anna Fields reading and SEP's humor.
This book is similar to Natural Born Charmer. It has the same author, narrator and is part of the same series.
Anna Fields brought this book to life. I could almost feel the characters roll their eyes, that's how good she was.
Anna Fields did a great job narrating, loved her change in accents.
When Molly put the salmon in the lake to change the guys mind about buying the Bed & Breakfast.
The moment that Kevin decided that Molly meant more to him than football.
I could not stop listening.
This book had a great story line and I really loved listening!
