Man, that was a rollercoaster. The writing combined with the narration provoked all the feelings the author intended to bring out. I don't know why but I really identified with the main character. I liked that she wasn't perfect but she was everything a strong female lead should be. This book made me cry and rage and it also made me smile and lol at certain points. Highly recommend.
this audio book was not my favorite. the main character is supposed to be an independent woman but I don't think she is very relatable. some of the story line is a little far fetched.
Seems like this book was business as usual. Has she lost her passion. I did not enjoy it. The characters were not developed in a fastidious manner. They just kept missing one another. To many death. I love her book "the Witness". I just have not enjoyed any of her books since. I guess I will have to wait until August for Louise Penny to,get a good book
Her characters were weak and undeveloped. I did not like all of the death before they got the killer.
This book was a good companion whilst driving, but it was frustrating how long it took the main character to come to what was an obvious conclusion. Not one of my favourite Nora Roberts books.
Depends on the friend it's a story that can cause strong emotion & not suitable for all
A little more variance between characters
I really enjoyed this book. The story is interesting with all the details about fire. The Narrator does an excellent job with all the voices. I agree with one reviewer who said it took too long for the characters to make the connection as to who the villian was but still it was a good read.
Sure. It's a pretty good book. It happens over a long period of time which gives the story depth. There were some extremely violent parts of the book that made me a bit uncomfortable when listening, though.
Yes. I am a fan of both Nora Roberts & Joyce Bean. I just didn't care for this particular book. It dragged on and on and I was very ready for the end. Which could be predicted hours before. Ms. Roberts is fantastic at portraying relationships, but I just never felt the connection here that I got from the Chesapeake series.
Of course. I love her.
I don't really know. They all seemed a bit insipid. Ms. Bean has a fantastic range of voices and did her best here.
Not read/listen to it again.
