This book was a good companion whilst driving, but it was frustrating how long it took the main character to come to what was an obvious conclusion. Not one of my favourite Nora Roberts books.
Audible addicted love mystery, lately stuck on love story. Mother of 1 Labrador and 1 perfect man. Work way too hard, and so ready to be retired
I agree with other reviews it took too long for them to figure out the killer, didn't like this one with the rape, burning of bodies just too much. The love story part was cool
Depends on the friend it's a story that can cause strong emotion & not suitable for all
A little more variance between characters
I really enjoyed this book. The story is interesting with all the details about fire. The Narrator does an excellent job with all the voices. I agree with one reviewer who said it took too long for the characters to make the connection as to who the villian was but still it was a good read.
Sure. It's a pretty good book. It happens over a long period of time which gives the story depth. There were some extremely violent parts of the book that made me a bit uncomfortable when listening, though.
Yes. I am a fan of both Nora Roberts & Joyce Bean. I just didn't care for this particular book. It dragged on and on and I was very ready for the end. Which could be predicted hours before. Ms. Roberts is fantastic at portraying relationships, but I just never felt the connection here that I got from the Chesapeake series.
Of course. I love her.
I don't really know. They all seemed a bit insipid. Ms. Bean has a fantastic range of voices and did her best here.
Not read/listen to it again.
Suspenseful and entertaining. This audio book made me want to continue listening even when I had other things to do. The narrator did the book justice. An enjoyable read or listen.
Good reader. Interesting story. Well-done characters. But some of the details of the events can get a little violent and gory. Not for someone who wants a relaxing read.
The detail given is fantastic, that the character took sooooo long to realise who was behind everything was very frustration.
The characters are interesting and well described.
I did enjoy the listen but it took almost too long to get going and almost too long to finish.
If, like me, you saw "Nora" and mistakenly thought "Ephron", run away fast. My fault, I know, but given that I didn't realize I was buying a romance novel and listened to the first hour thinking I was getting literature, I was seriously disappointed. Listener, beware.
