This was a good listen when you need something that is fun, heart felt and reasonably short. I enjoy listening to him tell his own story and felt better hearing him explain why he is "just a guy". For all us dads out here, it is good to know that we aren't the only ones dealing with ups and downs while we make more mistake after the other.

I have yet to see the print version, but I liked the audio edition a lot.
The story when Bill became a man was very moving.
Only when he performed as a comedian. This was very different in a way that his purpose didn't seem to be to make the reader laugh... if it happened, great, but it wasn't the point. So this book wasn't better or worse than his shows, just different.
Not really. It was a nice relaxing, light-hearted book, that I could put down when necessary, and pick right up again without loosing a beat when I was free once more.
This is a book about Bill Engvall's life, not a comedy sketch. If that's what you're interested in, you'll be happy with your purchase.
Bill Engvall's performance in reading this book is what makes it so personable and fun to listen to.
It felt more like you were have a conversation with the man over a few beers.
The book made you feel like you know Bill and his family personally...
His Dad and his wife...
This book left me feeling warm and fuzzy.... I love Bill comedy and i knew id love his book aswell... I wish i was really related to him because i feel like i am....He is awesome!!!
I found myself laughing, crying and just having a great time. Bill really is on heck of a guy. If you get this book you will enjoy it all the way to the end.
I'll admit it - I'm a fan of Bill Engvall. His comedy, in multiple forms, is hilarious. If you haven't listened to his albums of recorded stand up, you owe it to yourself to do so. He is a very funny man. This book is about the journey that brought Bill to the stage. Ironically, it isn't really all that funny - it isn't a comedy, you're not going to laugh from first to last second. What you will experience is Bill's life story, in his own words, read by him. If you're a fan of Bill already, read this book. If you aren't already a fan - listen to this and by the end of it, you'll realize something I should have already known - Bill Engvall really is a Blue Collar guy.
Not pretentious and nothing held back- simply real stories and lots of laughter. From childhood, to college and after you hear more about the person and how he came to be the entertainer he is today.
Learning more about his family life, especially as a child.
His dad- you can just hear Bill channeling all those memories of good times and bad right into the present.
I would probably not have finished this book just reading it but, listening to Bill tell it gives it some life interest.
Yes, it was heart-warming supported by Engvall's humorus view on life.
Dinner with his stepmom
I have seen and heard many if his on-stage stand up shows. This differs as it is not a few lines, then funny. He talks about his life but ties in humor along the way.
My extreme reaction was being able to see my husband's point of view/ a man's reasoning.
Recommended for easy listening.
Didnt read the regular book.
Easy to relate to Bill and his upbringing. Fun stuff that we all remember.
Love his inflections and the way he relates his own experiences.
Wish he could deliver more like his stand up performances, but understand the need to slow down the pace.
