Don't know, didn't read the print version. But the audio version is just perfect!!
Just the right blend of suspense & comedy
all of them!
Oh, wow, hard to think of just one!
Nothing by Kyra Davis. That's for sure.
This book is awful. I think the author's income must come, not from sales of the book, but from advertisers. It is nothing but one brand name product placement after another.
In order to keep the book from petering out, the author makes the characters do things that are so stupid that you wonder why they are allowed out by themselves.
Sophie Katz is a fun, kwirky heroine. I really got a kick out her relationship with her sister in this one! And the P.I. Anatoli, well, he is HOT. Love the chemistry.
The quirky characters don't disappoint.
The madcap adventures of Sophie Katz.
Sophie's sister, of the killer highlights, who is the suspected murderer.
These are a light and funny murder mystery series that I truly enjoyed.
Nothing it was a turn off from the start. the worst audio book I have listened to
She has a limited ability to portray different characters and after about 3 characters they all started sounding alike.Honestly I thought the delivery of Sofies sisters voice was a joke at the start.
This was the worst book I ever listened to. not knowing who Kyra Davis is or ever having listened to one of her books before I didn't know what to expect but I was hoping for a PD James type of work.Instead I recieved a really poorly written tale with one dimensional charecters and inane banter that is supposed to pass for wit.I listened to the end - I obviously have a masochistic streak but regret doing so.The plot is paper thin and there is no real mystery involved. The only thing that you need to know about the characters is that is if they are a WASP then they are ignorant. Wouldn't be so bad but even when the author tries to portray minorities as the heroes they do not come off much better. The only character I liked was the cat.the narration was not much better and the accents used to portray the characters was a joke. I was suspicious when I heard Harlequin was involved in the production at the start and If this drivel is representative of what women want to read then society has a real problem on its hands.
The final straw is that last night I dreamed I heard this book again. Not only did I wast nine hours of my life on it it is still in my head stealing my sleep! Please get out of my head
This is definitely a woman’s mystery. It kept me wondering to the end who the killer was. Kyra always has twists in her books so that you can’t figure out the ending until SHE reveals it. In this one I just could not buy into the sister’s blasé attitude.
Usually Gabra is an excellent reader but this time she kept mixing up the voices which sometime made for confusion.
Overall I liked the book but I liked Sex, Murder, and a Double Latte much better.
I always have a lot of fun buying a Kyra Davis book. Gabra Zackman's narration is perfect. Her delivery is so tongue in cheek. Can't wait till the next book comes out. These books have a little of everything.
I bought this book because it was inexpensive, but found myself laughing and enjoying it much more than I anticipated. It was a great escape experience!
