The narrator is always a plus. The first 30 min not so good. Then it got better when the second narrator read.
The father. .
Pepper was not good at all.
Maybe author wrote this for teenagers. It just so depressed me. I went to sleep during the middle but what I heard was just such a downer. I have lived through many of these things but I don't read/listen to books to be ground backward. I usually enjoy Mr. Sparks books but this one didn't provide enjoyment.
I really enjoyed this book. The story is beautiful! Well written, I had a hard time turning it off. My tween daughter started listening to the story while I was mind way though.. She has sense started at the beginning and is loving the book as much as I did. Every now and then I grab one of her ear buds to see where she is so we can chat about it.. I really like that even listening to it a 2nd time, Im hearing pieces & details I somehow missed the first time.
I did find the female narrator a bit annoying at first. After about 20-30 mins into the book she grew on me and I didn't mind her so much anymore. I also didn't like how the main character was always portrayed to have an attitude ALL the time. It was easy enough to look past, and listen to the story itself and not the way it was read... I get that she was a teen with a teen attitude. just think the narrator pushed it to far (which is on the narrator and not the book/story). I look forward to chatting with my daughter about this great story, and listening to it again.
Makes one appreciate the people around you! This book engages all of your emotions and leaves you thinking long after the last words are uttered.
I found the young narrator incredibly annoying to listen to, I get that it's supposed to be a young woman but the intonation in her voice was a little over the top. The story was OK but very predictable and a little sappy, although it did make me cry.
