What a GREAT book! Totally unexpected. It's like Dresden Files meets Spawn with a nice Dogma twist.
The performance was spot on. Cynical, tired, punk narrator scum telling a tale of loss, revenge, and ass-kicking.
What a ride!
The narrator was awesome the plot was cynical comedy on top of pure baddassery fight scene and stark himself was awesome I had my doubts at first but was gladly proved wrong
Where ever you go, there you are...
this book had an interesting start with characters i hadn't seen before, a simple revenge plot that kept me interested and an angle on magic that was new. Unfortunately, someone decided to over complicate things and pile everything in the third act like they forgot the story had to end eventually. Disappointment. That is the only word i could think of for this book.
Sandman Slim was a good read and the narrator was excellent, did a really great job! The main character in this Urban Fantasy is sarcastic, non apologetic and a bit crazy. Story moved along very fast and was entertaining. Plan on readying the next book in the series.
As with all first books in a very in depth series, there is a lot to explain and a lot of character development to get through. Kidney does this well and makes his first book sinister and interesting.
A great book and and even better performance.
Great inventive story and was excited to find out it was actually a series.
I love the fact that the main character lived in Hell and was able to escape. I thought the book was so entertaining and I love books that can make me laugh...lots of dry humor and sarcasm in the book too.
The narrator wasn't bad but I'm very picky with narrators, so that is a hard category for someone to score perfect in. However, this narrator's voice worked well with the character. It did not stop me from listening to the great story.
This was a good book to listen to each day during my hour long drive to and from school.
Great series....talented writer
The narrator did an excellent job at bring the book to life, and the author did a great job at providing a fun urban fantasy plot that was about betrayal, loss and retribution while managing to avoid being cheesy or predictable.
Had trouble in the beginning with the main characters "stupidity". But it got better as it went on and I realised it was just a bit of character development that was overlong on the no brains side. Some of the action felt short. I realise it was meant to be abrupt intentionally but it did not have enough contrast to have that sudden feeling. Overall I enjoyed the story for its originality.
