I don't know why, but I have re-read all of Susan Elizabeth Phillips (SEVERAL) times because they all have parts that make me laugh out loud, and this one was no exception. Jane Darlington dancing for Cal Bonner was a little painful to listen to and oh sooooo very funny!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I downloaded it because it's SEP and there was nothing else that I didn't have already. You might like it, I listened to the whole thing and laughed in some spots but .......
I keep getting emails asking me to rate the books I have listened to but did not feel incline to do so until know. I love this book, great storyline, it was both funny and enlightening. A must read. The narrator did an excellent job in portraying each character and their feelings. The passion between Cal and Jane kept drawing me in wanting to know and feel more. I admit some parts were predictable but all in all I found myself being part of the whole story. My favorite character was Annie, that feisty, bold hillbilly of an old woman who seem to know her family better than they know themselves. This is the second SEP book I have bought and is very impress by this author.
Would definitely but more of her books.
Realistic, imperfect, quirky characters. What a LOL treat in a romance. Plan to purchase more from S.E.P. ASAP!
Yes-it is one of my favorites!
Annie (grandma-I think that was her name)-nothing gets past her.
Yes-exceptional as all of the others. One of the best narrators ever!
Yes-but you will have to listen for yourself.
It was an OK read. The story line is pretty fantastic and predictable. The main characters are likeable, My favorite character was the grandmother. I liked the secondary story (the parents of the groom) much better than the main plot. I got this book bcs my cousin actually hunted for her baby's father in a similar fashion as the female character did in this book. Similar... This book could have been shorter.
I love Anna Fields narrations. She's great. RIP I miss her spot on characterization and she does a good job on this too. If it wasn't for her performance I probably wouldn't have listened this far.
The premise of this book is so silly. I know that SEP had written this type of story before and made it work but this one is painfully stupid so far. Why is she following him around like a patsy and letting him push her around. Please, he can't do damage to her without damaging himself too. I'm almost done with the first half but I will not finish it if it stays this stupid. If he doesn't want to be around her so much then why take her home with his family in the first place. Go to some other place and stay away from each other for a fake honeymoon. And why is she agreeing to go along with it just to be treated badly all day every day. Stupid. She can take care of herself. Catch the next thing smoking back home and go on with your life. Accept that you have to share the kid and move on!
Great book. Kept me interested throughout.
Enjoyed the character of the football player.
Yes, kept going back to it
Best audio I have read yet
Funny as heck...
When she tried to pretend she was a hooker.
Liked them all. Or maybe grandmother.
When he realized he wanted to be a doctor.
Nobody’s Baby But Mine is the 3rd book in the Chicago Stars series and I have to say it is my favorite so far. I know I said that in the review of book 2 but this series seems to keep getting better. I enjoyed books 1 and 2 but book 3 was not only a great story but also really funny. Although Jane did get on my nerves a few times with her poor me attitude when she was the one that really put herself into that situation; but other than those 4 or 5 times Jane and Cal were both great leads for this book. The story was a little predictable and corny at times but most chick lit is and that’s why we love it. Anna Fields did a fantastic job at narrating this book and I cannot wait to hear her read the rest of the Chicago Stars series. I hope this series keeps getting better and better.
