Better narrator . It was like she was speed reading.
I dont know
disappointment because I couldnt finish this audio because of the narrator.
I have "read" all ten of the Stephanie Plum stories and think this one will be my last. The first three are sensational, I laughed out loud! The next few were fair but lacked that "j'ne sai qua". (The intangile something, but still ok.) Numbers 8 and 9 were out and out lousey and 10, well lets just say its FLAT. Where is the comedy! This was the main aspect of the stories. The last time Grandma Mazur was side splitting funny was in number two. Maybe the stories aren't as bad as the reader. I don't know, I just know I don't want anymore.
I guess from reading the other reviews I should have read the first few Stephanie Plum stories versus this one. I would hope the dialogue is smarter and the stories more interesting than Ten Big Ones. I mean really, who would write Lulla saying to Stephanie as her car is burning (I guess several things have burned in Stephanie's past), "Well, at least you have a love life," (perhaps not exactly in those words) as a method to bring the boy friend back into the story...Even I could think of a better way to do that!
I found this book a chore to listen to. The reader's various character voices were irritating, especially Lula and the grandmother. I finally deleted the selection from my MP3 player and gave up on hearing the ending. Maybe if I am recuperating from a major illness that keeps me confined I will try to finish this book, but the plot was just too thin to keep me interested.
I love the Stephanie Plum books and this one was one of my favorites. I love how she sneaks into Ranger's home and sees how he lives is great. Not knowing that she is being watched the entire time makes it even better. Love this book.
yes stephanie plum is a funny jersey gir, and the family we have come to know and love are still there to cause us to chuckle. Ranger drawls, Baaabe, grandma is still going to funeral viewings, Lulaa still her spandex stretching, chip eating sidekick. Family dinners sound great but end up disasterous. ok we are talking fun, mindless escape, its a great formula, and lorei king is the voice for all the people who populate stephanies world, plus she creates new voices for the screwballs
stephanie encounters on the job. if you are looking for marshmallow creme, fluffy with a tweek of sassy sexyness, irreverent,, goofy charactors spend the credit. these books do not have to be read in order, they are addictive, the more you listen, the more you know about that bit of jersey turf, it seems like when sh*t happens stephanie is there.
Stephanie of course!
All of the book
She's got balls.
Somehow she manages to be formulaic without being redundant or boring!
I am addicted to these books!
I have listened to many of Ms. King's performances. I think she does a fantastic job!
I usually laugh out loud when listening to her books.
i always love to hear about stephanie's crazy adventures.
i love lula and grandma. hard to pick a favorite scene.
