I spend a lot of time in the car to and from work everyday, and listening to the Bible keeps me calm during the drive, and gives me alone time with the Father. The theatrical performances of the actors has brought to light parts that I'd skimmed over while reading - things I've read all my life, have been given new meaning because of the stress on different phrases and words. I have several times been so surprised at certain things I've heard, that I've gone back to my leather Bible, to see if what was said was accurate or embellished. Every single time, the reading was correct. Listening to the Bible has also changed how I read the Bible aloud to others. I have begun to read with much more expression so that I too can bless others. I've been told by elderly Christians that my reading is refreshing to their ears and hearts. I credit this audio Bible as my inspiration!
I would like to choose which section I am listening to. However, the way the files are cut up are non-sensical. There are no section names. Just Part !, Part 2, etc. Worse still, they aren't even cut up into 66 parts with the requisite chapters for each book of the Bible! This would have been a simple (and smart) thing to have done.
Poort format delivery, Audible. Fix this and it will be a 5 star experience. Right now two stars is pushing it due to the frustrating (read; nearly impossible) way of navigating.
Love everything about this audio bible! It reads like a long action filled story I've never gotten this far in the bible reading it on my own! I love it and I can't wait to make it to the end!
Being able to feel as though you are there. The natural sounds, and the great stories being read.
Samson and Delia
all are the favorite!
I like to thank everyone who put this together and read. Great Job cast, a job well done.
Narrators and special effects truly puts me there. The music brings it alive!! However, I wish it was possible to locate chapter and verse from a content list.
Growing up I was a reader. From the age of 3 I was reading music notes, newspaper, any book. It didn't matter. Now as I'm getting older, I'm noticing I do still like visual but I'm going more into the audio as well. I used to read the bible all of the time but got to the point where I didn't anymore, except at church which is no bueno. I've heard of other audio bibles but I didn't want anything boring. So when I heard about this group of actors recording the bible, I knew it would hold my interest so I joined audible and purchased Old/New and Proverbs. I love it. I can listen to it at home/work on computer AND on via my phone in car or on train commute. Great idea!
This is my first inspirational purchase for an audio book so I can't compare it to anything..except maybe the new testament and proverbs.
I finished listening to the book of Esther earlier this morning and I've read that book before and didn't get all of that out of it. The audio works with my imagination so now I'll forever remember the story.
oh noooo...you can't listen to this in one sitting. It's too much information for that. This is a book one listens to and then re-listens to. It's information but in a fun way.
I'm glad someone put this together. My attention span is not the same with reading and I needed a way to get back into reading/absorbing the Word of God. Thank you!
