This book moves along at a cracking pace. Never a dull moment, grips you every chapter.
Phil Gigante has done an excellent narration combined with sounds and voices.
If you loved the Jack Daniel's book as I did you will really enjoy this.
Highly recommend if you like to be on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The narrator Phil Gigante does an awesome job santiago will scare the hell out of you
hits you right between the eyes and keeps coming
the sheriff that poor man never got to enjoy his chili
a must read or listen !!!!!!!!!!!
No, unless I knew they were into this type of book
Not another one like this
I love Phil Gigante. His performances are always great. That was the main reason I purchased this book. I had never read a Jack Kilborn novel before. I will check out his other books. I just may not purchase.
No, I don't think there is anything worth following up.
Thank God for Phil Gigante or I never would have listened to the whole book!
I have no idea
unoriginal and annoying
overly dramatic/traumatic! beyond gratingly annoying
too many to mention
This was a large chunk of wasted time
This was a great book - that kept you listening - and the narrator, Phil Gigante - is so far the BEST - that I have listened to - it made me actually picture the characters by the voices the did for them - KUDOS!!!!!!!!
Plot and Narrator!
Never- but for sure will NOW - this is how I am going to search for books - by the narrator!
Action, Horror, Mystery - you get it ALL - and romance - through all the tragedy - and family coming together - it had EVERYTHING!
OMGosh - I was thinking last night -when the book was over - OH - I wish this was a movie!
Reduce the gore
No, but he does very well with the voices and building the terror.
Shock, revulsion, and disappointment that I had wasted one of my two free Audible.com downloads.
Imagine the mental picture the listener forms as early in the book a woman is butchered
ALIVE!, and then not killed until her husband is helpless on the bed beside her!
MY SON AND HIS FRIENDS LIKED THIS BOOK.... WE LISTENED TO IT ON A TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS. THEY REALLY LIKED IT... WAS A GOOD LISTEN BUT WAS A BIT MUCH FOR THIS FEMALE.
Help Me! I can't stop reading this crap! Some of it is so hokey but i still can't stop. I can't lie to you but some of it is brilliant too. The way he carries some of his creepy characters over from book to book. I haven't been this excited about the horror genre in a long time! Terrific author! A warning though very gory!
Well I admit that I was influened by the other rave reviews about this. Certainly the description doesn't tell you enough to know what it's about or the title. But Afraid isn't appropriate title. It's not a scary story. It's a violent, odd story about a red ops commando group that gets dropped in a small town and kill most everyone in it and along the way it's so violent, weird, gory sometimes that I did not enjoy it in the end. I did finish it. I guess if you like that sort of thing then you'd like it, but it was too much from start to finish on things like one of the guys likes to eat peoples fingers and toes so he does to several people and one is a mass murder who slays about 100 town people in a gym and that whole scene is just disgusting so... what can I say - TOO violent - someone has a very weird imagination too. I will give credit to the narrator - he's excellent.
Perhaps one of the worse audiobooks I've ever purchased. The characters had absolutely NO development, the violence went beyond it's usefulness in an effort to save an absurdly stupid plot.
Usual garbage about the bad U.S. Military creating almost super human fighters who attack a town. The entire plot was centered around sadistic serial killers made into solders.
The writer is an exploiter. Using violence to make a buck!
