Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
Sofie Katz had a lot going for her series in the first book and the second was not far behind. Although this book was not a complete flop it was defiently missing the spark from her first two books. I might or might not finish the series because I loved the first two and this one I was just glad it was over when I finished. If the next books come on sale probably would get them other wise i will continue on.
I always look forward to the Sophie Katz series. These are such fun stories! Great characters, all with different personalities that make you love them, or want to strangle them. Hilarious situations when they come together, and often clash with each other. I love everything about these books. I can't wait til the next one comes out!
Jewish humor. Russian romance. What more do you need? How about a great mystery and a bundle of laughs at life? Enjoy. There's more to come.
Kyra Davis's books are a good way to spend some time if you want to escape and get an occasional laugh. Her books are all pretty much the same, but not bad if you are overworked or stressed for a quick escape.
Loved this book as well as the others in the series. Kyra Davis has developed her characters well and Gabra Zackman does a great job bringing them to life. Well written story with much humor interjected.
I really liked the first two books in the Sophie Katz series. This book was just tiresome. The plot was minimal, and seemed to be only a platform for snarky political commentary. I have read other series where you were in no doubt about the author's political stance, and that was fine; it didn't interfere with the story. In this book you are repeatedly bludgeoned with politics, and the story really suffers for it. What a disappointment. I hope Ms. Davis reverts to her previous witty prose, and leaves the political rants to the people with the placards. Gabra Zackman, as usual, does a stellar job with narrating the tale, tiresome as it is.
If you're looking for pure entertainment this is a great listen. It's a fun story with a little bit of everything; friendship, romance, drama all set against the backdrop of a murder mystery.
I can usually figure out who did it before the author tells me. This book was different. There were too many suspects. Davis manages them well for a very good funny and suspenseful book. The book has political overtones but I they are not distracting. They keep in line with the plot of the book. Her first book in this series was the absolute best so far but this is a close second. I am off to read the next one.
I have to be honest, even though these books have their flaws, I got one when Audible had the $4.95 series special. Since then I haven't even waited for my credits, I've bought them all. The author and the narrator are really growing on me and I hope I see a new book in this series soon.
