No, I wouldn't advise reading this book. More than half the book is people talking about how the "stuck to this and were successful". The book could have be done in 5 pages, instead they tell the same story over and over and over. It is one of the most boring books Ive encountered. What a waste of time!
I like Body for Life, it's a great diet. But they need to remove the story from the woman who implies that at the end of her Body for Life 12-week program, she was completely cured of cancer. It's a dangerous, offensive, repulsive claim and has no place here.Having said that, I love the Body for Life program for losing weight and building muscle. But seriously, the included implication that it cures cancer needs to go, ASAP.
Yes, I love the program. It works. But it does not cure cancer. Because of that implication, it gets 1 star.

I really wished that this was unabridged. It didn't flow as well to me as the book, and I've read the book several times...I didn't think to get the unabridged version, if there is one...my mistake.
I would have thought this would emphizise on strengthening your body and mind. Where Mind was what I was after but, this was just a long commercial like the ones on some shopping channel. Its only just over 2h long but I just bearly managed to listen to 70 minutes of annoying music background and satisfied customers telling their stories with almost no real content att all. I will listen to the end now that I bought it but so far it's been a waste of time.
The tips are solid and scientific. Really liked to listen to it and started a little bit of weight training to with positive results. The book is not too long (10hours) and it is well read and easy to follow. Even ordered a printed copy.
I would have given a 5 star for sure but the for over 30min so many people came testifying how this program helped them. That was a bit too much. I recommend to forward this part as much as possible.
I have tried the body for life program by being passed the information from someone else who was in the 12 week program. I now have my own and have used the body for life techniques for 1 week. I have more energy than I could ever imagine. I am already down 2 inches in my waist and have lost 5 lbs!
The audiobook is not like the written book, but it is a good supplement to it. If there were things you didn't understand in the book, you will probably get the gist of it in the audio. Bill Phillips has a very pleasant speaking voice and sounds earnest. He describes the BFL plan between interviews with the BFL contest winners. He explains his beliefs and why the BFL program is different. And he attempts to further define what is written in his book regarding diet and exercise and what is expected from an individual to achieve results. The audiobook was obviously created to motivate and inspire people to action. My favorite part is at the conclusion, when they do an audio montage of phone calls notifying the BFL finalists that they've won -- The joy and excitement you hear is genuine. Phillips tells you that you could be next -- not so much as a contestant, but as someone who achieves their goals.
