Driving over 100,000 mile a year since 1983, I got hooked on audible books on tape 30 years back. I now listen from my bicycle 2 hours a day
After a fairly strong start AMAZONIA moves along quite nicely until the evil Frenchman and his minions waltz into the secret valley of the unknown tribe free from any of the problems that plagued the protagonist and his party.. Simply an unbelievable plot with irritating idiotic dialog. Don't waste your credits on this drivel. UGH. It's as if the author got tired of being clever and intelligent about 3/4 of the way through and allowed some B movie fan to finish up. Pass on this one.
This is a good story, well written and only slightly slow in the telling. The ending was excellent.
There is a constant hissing. Don't know if it's in the production or his voice, but there is always this hiss
Probably, it would be full of CGI
fantastic story and narration, could not put it down. I am now a James Rollins fan
blending of science and fiction
brings characters to life
exciting, interesting, unique
the idea of the symbiosis between the tree and the people
John brought the characters to life by inflection and cadence.
The sharing between the dying shaman and the new one.
I enjoyed the ending as well. God always finds a way regardless of what we think we have control of!
What a great read. This book has it all … love, sex, the supernatural, family relationships and even a worldwide medical dilemma. James Rollins has a unique way of grabbing his reader at the first of his book and taking them on a wild ride throughout the story line and this book was no exception. Rollins always has a bevy of characters that are intriguing, with some being good and always some bad, and intertwines them in a distinctive way. Was the book realistic? Absolutely not. But I don’t read for realism. I read for entertainment … and that is exactly what this book does. It will keep you reading even when you have other things you NEED to do. Even though it is one of his older books, I would still recommend it.
Hot, Sweaty Action
It was fast pace... different storylines that interconnected... but they were in different parts of the world
I felt the passion (the women's voices and children were a little weak) in his voice...
Hot, Sweaty Action
great book made even better by listening to it.
More than once
Yes;I really like the way James Collins writes an organizes all his books.
The whole book
Will keep frying more books from audable
I'm a geologist and I use Audible books to while away long hours on the road... My pickup truck is my reading room!
This book is loaded with cliches and grammatical miscues, like
The stylistic irritants so drove me to distraction that I cannot even comment about the plot.
I would say that the narration is OK, except that there were some odd pauses between sentences, as if Meagher himself needed time to decipher Rollins' awkward syntax.
A great sadness for the abuse to which the English language was subjected.
