Weak romance with lots of waffling about whether or not the characters are attracted or want to pursue a relationship. The narrator is fine but didn't have much to work with.
The story is good but not as good as the first in the series. However, I'm not sure if it is because I couldn't stand the narrator or if the characters were not as developed. I'm still glad I downloaded it because I wanted to continue the series. I'm happy to see the 3rd book has a different narrator.
This is the first Susan Mallory book I have read. I totally loved everything expect for "Gloria". If you don't fall in love with the little girl in this book... you have no heart!
About half-way through this one, I was going to review it as an "OK piece of fluff, like cotton candy". But as I got into it more, I liked it more and would get another by this author. The sex scenes are good, the narrator is great, and the characters are likeable.
Lover of ideas who feels no guilt at all about her pleasures.
This book suffers greatly from it's beige, whiny heroine who I found impossible to care about. Her 'mommy' trouble put a damper on any sizzle there might have been between herself and her emotionally damaged man. Is the audio version of 'unreadable' 'unlistenable'?
