It was the view from the enemy experiences during and after the battle. What it was like being aboard their carriers while under attack by the Americans, damaged planes crashing on deck, damage control errors. Very exciting & interesting!
Alot like the Movie but still a very interesting Book. I would recommend this Book.
This is the first book that i have read written for the side of japan. I learned much for it.
A very clear view of the battle as seen by a Japanese pilot. The book is excellent for outlining the Japanese strategy and how it contained a number of contradictory objectives which helped to doom the attack on Midway.
I have heard, read and watched stories about the battle of Midway many many times. I really enjoyed hearing about it from the perspective of a Japanese aviator.
Very good and probing story about a confident Japan and victory desease. They could not believe that there plan was not going the way they laid it out. Naration was very good and a must read for people who love pacific world war II history.
To hear the story from the Japanese side, though told with great respect, was really worthwhile. This is a mix of memoir and personal experience as well as history. The narration is very good as well.
Love my sci-fi and fantasy, but delve into Historical and Biographical.
I was a buff of Midway, but never read a book from the enemies point of view. This changed that. It's full of insights and commentaries about the Japanese military and citizenry. Once more, it helps you see the motivations of the entire national complex, let alone the military.
I recommend this book if you find Midway a fascinating subject, as it only reinforces the concept of a series of perfect coincidences that benefit one side.
