Really enjoyed this book - multiple plots and character development occurring at the same time without any confusion that some times comes with this. Murder mystery that was fun to try and figure out as you read.
Very timely plot given today's financial intrigue. Loved that it was set in Sweden for something different. The book is not for the squeamish given portions are fairly graphic.
First half is very slow and plodding... almost gave up on the book.
Fortunately, this was just setting everything up, and investing you in the characters.
Once the story kicks into gear into the second half, you can't put it down. Great ending, and very thought provoking message that stays with you.
Highly recommended, but can't quite give it 5 stars. Even though the first half is set up, it probably could have been cut in half.
This book was interesting enough to keep me listening, but it started out pretty slowly and I thought there were a number of loose ends that were left hanging at the end. Also, the narrator was good, but his use of British accents for the Swedish characters was a little jarring.
This book starts off so slowly that I almost stopped listening to it. Don't give up! The plot really takes off and it was well worth the wait. This is up there with some of my very favorite mysteries and I can't wait for the next one to come out this summer. If you like Val McDermid books, you'll like this one. I thought it was pretty humorous that one of the characters was reading a Val McDermid book in this story. The narrator is excellent and we all know the reader can make or break the enjoyment of the book.
It kept me amused during a long drive. I don't regret buying this audiobook, but will not buy anything else by this author.
i listen mostly to audible non-fiction. i intersperse some novels. this is perhaps the best novel i've heard: intelligent, exciting, well written, wonderfully read and dramatized. A+
This story starts a bit dry with background material and financial intricacies. However, once this is done, the story builds rapidly into a captivating and intricate story with great characters and a fun twist.
I loved it.
The reader is one of the best I've heard..only second to Jim Dale.
