The story started out very slow...and confusing with so many names and little character expansion. It did finally get good and was a good read (but not a great read). The narrator did a good job differentiating the characters.
Loved it!! At first difficult to get into, but after about 2 hours, well worth it!! The ending was left open, but I recently read this is the first of a trilogy. If so, can't wait for the next one.
I very much enjoyed this book but there were parts that felt like filler. I thought the ending was horribly anti-climactic and almost, but not quite, ruined what had been to that point a gripping story.
Breath of fresh air, albeit with a stench of crushing unfairness. How terribly refreshing to have a tense thriller, that doesn't involve the US senate, CIA or Pentagon in anything but the most remote terms. Set in Australia, the urban reality that is not at all "Crocodile Dundee". "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" keeps you engaged and draws the reader into the character in a way that makes one want to help. One can hardly help from feeling the weight that the main character must endure. Burdened by the steam rolling phenomena of trial by media that is so evident these days.
Sure wish I read the reviews before I bought this! Didn't get very far...not even an hour and could not get into the 'story'... went on line to reread the description of the book but decided after reading the reviews that it was surely not my kind of book! Excuse the one star...not really fair since I read so little but I couldn't change it
I enjoyed every minute of this audio book. The plot was excellent -- convoluted without being torturous, and the characters were fascinating. The narrator was unobtrusive and enhanced the listening experience. I will definitely purchase the next audio book or print book in this series -- whichever I am able to purchase first!
This book is engaging, smart, intellectual, romantic and surprising. It will leave you hungry for the next edition and ready to visit Sweden. The characters are superb and complex, the relationships are complicated and the narrative is excellent. Wow.
