do not start unless you have a whole day to finish it. Found myself getting up in the middle of the night to listen to more of it.. Melt down at end reminds you of todays Madoff mess.
What a great book! I couldn't stop listening. A gripping story with twist and turns. The main characters are likable but flawed, which leads to a really interesting story. The author is great at creating a bold visual without over describing or providing too many details. Throughout the book I kept wishing that they'd make a movie of this story...maybe we'll get lucky and they will though I doubt it will be as great as the book.
This is the first audiobook I ever listened to and I am now happily addicted. I walked home from school (5 miles)four times JUST so I could listen to this book.
The narrator does a great job--the only slightly annoying part is his impersonation of Salander's voice. (It's mostly a whisper)
The beginning part about economic scandal was a little dull but once the story gets going it keeps you interested until the end.
I recommend this book for almost anyone. (almost because there are some graphically sexual parts)
Simon Vance is one of my favorite narrators, but even without his expert reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo would have been excellent. The story is fascinating, and you never know quite in which direction the author is going to take you. The family that our protatonist investigates may be THE most disfunctional family ever!
I really enjoyed this audiobook, so much that I had to ration my listening time so it wouldn't end so soon. I can't wait until his other books are translated.
I was more than possitively surprised with the book and more surprised to give a book a 5 for the 3rd time ever. Although the technology part is a little outdated it did not decrease the book appeal. Girl with the Dragoon Tatoo had a little of all, but its main attraction is the different approach to the well traveled roads. I would read the other two books right now if they were in language I knew better. This book will keep you guessing and will leave you hungry for more but will spoil all the run of the mill books.
Enjoying life by the sea in St. Augustine FL. Started listening to books on cassette and in 1995 over the radio, hooked ever since!
Enjoyed every moment right up to the excellent ending.
This is an excellent book. The characters are multi-layered, and very real. The each come with their fair share of flaws and gifts. The book is intelligent, complex and well paced. The author shows a delightful respect for the reader. The story line not linear, and that makes it all the more fun.
