I had not had previous exposure to Jane Austen's work. The book is fantastic and I'm grateful that this performance of the work was my first exposure. The reader did an excellent job with each character and voice. I'm sure that long time fans will find it enjoyable as well.
My commute is long and the audiobooks are longer. Brevity is not my strong suit. @alyssahoman
No, they are equivalent.
The story is always delightful! The stakes are never high, the writing is witty and it's resolution is happy and fluffy.
Nothing. It was a classic reading of a classic book.
"Exactly like every other version of this story that's ever been made!"
If you like Pride & Prejudice and want a solid reading of the original text then you'll enjoy this!
The story lacked an interesting plot. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, and it never did.
This book is overrated.
Mom, full time job, long commute. Love audio books!
I adored this! I'd always wanted to read Pride and Prejudice. I bought this book as Whispersync and it worked out perfectly to listen to large sections on my commute and still be able to read a bit on the weekends. Even though I already knew the basic storyline, I still felt quite a bit of suspense as to how Lizzie and Darcy would ever get together. The narration was superb. Highly recommended!
This was the first audiobook I've listened to. I loved it. I couldn't stop reading and listening. Immersion reading is wonderful, especially for those who have English as a second language...
Elizabeth. She's strong and confident, and yet very sensitive
It seemed to me that she brings the story alive.
I, like others, have read this many times. This is the first time I 'read' it in the audio format. I enjoyed it this time as much as any other and the narrator did a great job! Just like the previous times I read the book, I was sorry to have the story end.
Passionate about reading, listening and widening my comprehension of the world. My favourite sentence: we have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.
I really think not
the story itself
After jane Eyre I though I would have found a great story again, but I really dislike this story. I can't finish the audiobook.
