The name of the wind has a great storyline. it was filled with entertainment and suspense. i can't wait to read the next book in the series.
English teacher, Nerd, and recent tabletop RPG fan. just finished 2nd listen. have recommended to many friends, 100% of whom loved and now share inside jokes related to The Name of the Wind.
first book in a series about a young boy becoming the hero of Legend. very long but absolutely worth the time
my husband bought this and lost interest. I didn't want to waste an audiobook, so I started listening while I drove. I actually started looking for excuses to go on long trips just so I could listen!
Be ready to be enthralled! Better than Harry Potter. Little more linear than Game of Thrones but on par.
I was audible before it was cool. Love to listen to books as I have no time to read these days. Love all genres - just about the story.
better than Martin, Tolkien or any other epic fantasy I have ever read. get it
Looks to be the beginning of a long tale told by the hero of the series.
A young innkeeper tells of his life, as a scribe jots it down for all to read. Beginning at the age of twelve traveling with his parents from village to village with an entertainment troupe, Kvothe quickly has to become a man when disaster strikes. He spends his life looking for revenge, but keeps his humanity along the way.
Can be read by all ages and seemed more YA to me. I didn't care too much for the narrator, so switched back and forth, preferring the book when I read it.
