A truly well thought out trilogy that I would recommend to any who are looking for a good book to listen to, I hope that you will see the characters in future books.
I loved the first book! The second would have been just as good if I didn't constantly feel like the author was trying to justify homosexualism (there was a great relationship building up there, but the "mood" was totally destroyed by what felt like preaching). This last book however did something no one else seems to have a problem with - a guardian having a romantic relationship with his protégé. This just smacks of someone taking advantage of his leadership role over a young impressionable woman. I'm quitting this book before the end because it just infuriates me every time I listen to the narrator gushing about how handsome the High Lord is with his shirt off. Shame on you Trudi Canavan for relaying to young people (and old) that this is okay! I know too many people who battle this mindset every day.
A great story read with passion. The narrator brings the series to life with his interpretation of the different caracter voices.
I drive 55 metre roadtrains in Western Australia, a kiwi working in Australia. Love my Harley and my saxophone...
Not really much i can say but this is a great series...
This is the final book in the Black Magician Trilogy, and in my opinion the best by far. Trudi has entertained us well with this different trilogy. The high lord has all the twists and suspense you need to make a ripping finale to a great series.
I am married with a teenage son and run my own business. As I am visually impaired, audio books are my life.
The story line fascinated me and hooked me into this trilogy. Even though this is a long and detailed tale it had some good twists in it. Overall I've enjoyed the series and will probably read it again sometime
this is simply a long love story. It is the first time I have ever wished I had gotten the abridged. I hate abridged books but these three books could not stand on their own and should have only been one book. Maybe that would have made the time I put into it worth it.
