I love books and animals.I enjoy all sorts of genres, anything from history to supernatural.
Book 3 in this series is Superb.
Kim Harrison continues to write these stories seamlessly and without flaw.
The characters, plot, and emotion seem so alive.
Of course that is also with the help of the fantastic narrator that really puts so much into the the story telling.
The first two books were quite entertaining, but it's become the same old grind - out of control vampire roommate, but Rachel doesn't want to move out. It's become a cliche within a cliche.
I want to write to you Ms. Kim Harrison, You have brought us a world of a Witch that lived in and old church with vampires and pixies and deal with demons too. Rachel has been learning and growing more powerful as the series has grown. This was a great 13th book. It said good bye to some and let us see the ending of an era for Rachel. BUT--we need more. This is not an end to Rachel's story, her story continues . Yes it is true you have done a great job with this last book--so you call it. But we as readers need more--Rachel's wedding and a baby--for starts. We need more! What would this child bring into play--fun, fun, fun! You have to let us see Rachel as a mother. Write novellas or a group of short stories if you feel you can not do a novel that let us see what life is like for Rachel in the future. At least one more book. Please-we are not tired of Rachel yet.
Thank you Marguerite Gaven, You have done a great job over the 13 books in this series. I hear your voice and I'm right back into the story where we left off the last time. Thank you
Kim Harrison has created an urban fantasy series that is enjoyable and interesting. The action is good but not great. This is the third book in the series and contained a good mix of magic, sex and mystery. Rachael is a likable heroin, and the narration is good. This book hovers between 3 and 4 stars but not quite reaching 4 stars. Fun enough that I will listen to more.
Best of the series so far. Can't wait to start next one. Love Margurite's voice.
I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy urban fantasy. I like the world building of the series, and there is a lot action.
Rachel is such a strong character, but when it comes to men she is an emotional marshmallow. I'd like to see her toughen up and be smart in her relationships.
I have listened to Marguerite Gavin's narration of the previous books from this series and also Pride and Prejudice. I think she is a fantastic narrator.
Out-wolfing the wolves
Rachel finding her way into and out of dangerous situations.
Any Book in the Rachel Morgan series
She does a GREAT job with all of the different voices. She will always be the voice I consider as Rachel Morgan
I am a voracious reader. Lately I've been alternating between mysteries and sci-fi and love their weird intersection.
This one is one of the better ones. The characters become more developed, as does the setting and story lines
Aside from Rachel, I rather enjoy Ivy. She's both tough and sexy.
Rachel Morgan and company creates a glimpse at A supernatural side if the Midwest at its most entertaining.
Graphic Designer. Culinary Enthusiast. Mostly User Friendly.
I didn't like this one quite as much as the previous two -- there was a lot going on, but the depth of the relationships seemed a little lacking. I plan to read on, though -- I like this series overall.
I am loving this series by Kim Harrison. It is adventure for the brain.I can listen while I work & or exercise & time goes by effortlessly.I get things done & enjoy myself while getting them done.Margeurite is an amazing woman. She can flip from one character to the next effortlessly. There are quite a few character's too,so for her to be able to keep with these character's is awesome. Some times it's hard listening when a"woman"is doing a mans voice, but some how she can pull it off with out making it sound weird:)I am on my 4th book now in this series & looking forward to writing my next review.Rachel is finally growing a pair, a very BIG pair. She's awesome & so is her gang of supernatural friends.
